after searching and trying to figure this out myself, can anyone tell me how to go about locking the bike to, say a bike holder that swings freely when landed on with RB, and releasing the bike with LB. I saw it done on a track but cannot find it again. thank you
Why would you need bike holders? If you want to freeze the rider then tie "Frozen" in the bike & rider properties to a variable and control it with set value events "1" and "0".
when the rider lands on the bike holder the rider locks in with RB just before it starts to swing and gives momentum to the rider then they release the lock with LB and fly on to the next partOriginally Posted by Blastergamer
Im not sure if im remembering this right but it think with the bike holder the different variations represent the drive in, locked, drive out states for the bike. So you would need to tie the variation to a variable data source(VDS), and then play around with the RB and LB tiles to activate a set value event to change the VDS to the correct variation. I think that is the way, but ill have a check tonight, unless anyone else knows?
aha, i did not think of that. ill give that a shot tonight and see what i come up with. thank you for the replyOriginally Posted by Fernanjoe
okay i got it all working now, only issue is i have to down click the right stick to reset my bike carrier. that same down click is what locks the bike and then unlocks on release. i fooled around with all the reset on checkpoints and nothing helps. am i missing something or should i try some kind of event trigger that does the click after each checkpoint?
Have you tried using a different controller tile? like assign the click left stick to the bike lock/unlock? If you explain what it is you want to happen ill try to work it out.Originally Posted by 4nonam35
Sorry, just re-read your post and I don't think I understood what you meant. Is it that you have the bike holder all set up and working how you want but when you reset to checkpoint it hasn't reset the bike holder to the correct position?
yes you understood correct. and i had been using the y button at first but it was not working at all till i switched to the click stick. im going to try using Y again since everything else is working right. hopefully it will also fix the resetting problem in the processOriginally Posted by Fernanjoe
