For college I am always a good 25-30 minutes early, never been late once to college. For other things I am always early, usually a good 15-20 minutes early never late to anything really, haven't been late for anything that I can remember.

Seriously though, for most things I aim to be around at aboot 5 - 10 minutes early for about everything.
But if the meeting place happens to be the place where the whomever I'm meeting with happens to live or work in, then I think it is very rude to show up too early, because the one I'm meeting might still be getting ready or whatever, having a poo or doing the dishes or having a nap or lighting up the candles, whatever, and if it's a business thing you might be seriously screwing up a schedule, whatever..and whatever.
If it's a public place though..then..you can show up yesterday for all I care, as long as you're not late.. Just don't expect me to show up until that 5 to 10 mins before what was agreed on.

I am usually late for 1-5 minutes. I don't like going early, because I hate waiting for things that are more delayed than me, and waiting long in general. That's also why I missed my train a few times.
