Why not monetize TRACK CENTRAL for Fusion?

If there is money to be made, companies will find a way to make it happen.
    Much like iTunes, why not?
Here's how I would do it:
-Tracks need to be ok'd by Redlynx in order to sell
-Player receives half, Microsoft 10%, Redlynx 40%
-Most tracks are free, creator makes download pack....say 10 tracks for $4
-Another option, subscribe to builder for $8, receive all tracks
-Tracks are free to play when they're on the feed, after available to purchase, etc.
These are a few off the top of my head. Of course, the number could be whatever, but the basic concept is there.

Would you spend $8 to play all of Izez Princess's tracks? Bargain.
Offer tremendous value, along with mostly free tracks, allow creation of trailers for each creator's page...and so on.

This would not replace track central's free concept, but I believe add to it. Imagine how good tracks would be? Lastly, wouldn't it be nice to be compensated for having 50k downloads...

Find a way to do this Redlynx and you will be swimming in cash, more so than you have already been, 40% of every sale for doing nothing

If Evo sold 1.6 million @$15....so, 25 million net.
You'd make a lot more than a few dlc's by implementing this. Maybe a few million a year net easy...depending on the Fusion install base. Better yet, all the good creators would get some cash for their time and creativity.

It could be impossible with Microsoft constraints...but if Track Central functioned like a Pond5 site, it would work quite well.
Did I mention TC has the games best tracks? Not hard to sell at all.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this notion.
I, for one, would like this to never happen.

Re: Why not monetize TRACK CENTRAL for Fusion?

Why can't track central just be kept free? Seriously, who would pay 8$ for 30 great tracks? This defeats the core of Trials. No F2P crap please.
This plan sounds so evil, and I can see people would leave trials if this monetization would boom in, since they can't play their favorite tracks anymore without $$.

This this how RL can make fair money, without pulling in F2P garbage:

-Hire track creators for in-game and public MP tracks for track-only DLC packs (not just 1-3 dozens, 100+ tracks) + best of track central.
-1 or 2 additional, fully weird & unique rider gear pack for download. NOT taken out from the DLC packs or base game.
-Increase the game price like 20$ for arcade (5$ increase).
-Trials Fusion rider & bike mini figures in retail stores.

This is basically why paying for user content is a bad idea:

Re: Why not monetize TRACK CENTRAL for Fusion?

    Seriously?
I have close to, if not more than 1.5 Million downloads on Track Central, but I agree monetizing it is a terrible idea, I would have nowhere near that amount if people were being forced to pay for tracks.
People (me included) would just give up on the game if they had to keep forking up money just to play user content.
Your whole idea is completely flawed and would effectively ruin Red Lynx if they tried it, it would not be beneficial to them in any way.

Nobody is forcing any of us to spend time making tracks, it's not like you're working for free, you don't have to do it if you don't want to, we make tracks because we enjoy doing it, not because we expect something in return.

The only system that I can see that may work is a donation system, where you leave Track Central free like it is but add a "Donate To This Creator" option for people who may feel so inclined, but even that may be impossible or implausible to implement.
