You are missing my overall point, my point is that Microsoft is giving its cusomers less value for the money when compared to its competition. Sony and Microsofts controllers are about the same price, one comes with a rechargable battery pack, one doesnt. If that makes them have to charge even more for the console, it doesnt change the fact you get less for more money. That doesnt even talk about that fact that xbone is less horsepower for more money... They are cutting all kinds of corners to try and fit that overly expensive kinect piece of crap into the system...

Back to the topic of this discussion, If they wanted to interest me they should have made a cheaper console without kinect, not pissing the disc drive...

Indeed it's not. That doesn't mean it's not unethical ********.

By all means, continue to dislike whatever companies you feel the need to dislike, but please at least be on topic and refrain from posting things that insinuate that anyone who does not think exactly as you do is a fool. There are so many places where the "Console Wars" are these big rage filled arguments on a daily basis, but this doesn't need to be one of those places.
Eh, I find myself leaning more and more to PC only these days. I don't want that to happen, but I am left no sane choice.

If I do get a new console it will most certainly be a PS4 though.

Plays games for purposeless points above anything else. Your typical achievement hunter.

Steam game discs are only made for installing, and you have to activate the key code in the box. You can install steam games on every computer, but without an account with the game key, you cannot run the game. Yes, valve has routinely crazy sales, and MS/Sony not, but that's because used games exist there, while on Steam there is not. MS is just not there yet, like I said just in my previous post:

I know you've been referring to consoles, but Steam is not a lot more different than consoles, especially since Steamboxes are coming. Try out the "big picture" mode in Steam dude.
steam and consoles are very different, steam has competition on the platform and consoles don't, everybody can make games for pc and release them, on consoles only microsoft or sony decide if you can be on it, you can't even price the content at the price you want it and you even had to pay m$ to fix your own game

on pc you have several places you can buy games with or without drm, with or without steamkeys, you can even get steamkeys cheaper in different places than on steam during their sales because they give a deeper cut

sony and microsoft can do whatever they want they just need to make sure they don't loose many customers, if they can get them to buy the console they are already invested so are less likely to get games from different places where they wouldn't earn any money from them so they can ask more money for them, they wanted used games gone because they don't make any money from those

People are being offered a discount if they want to trade in an older console.
Nobody is being forced to trade in a console.
You don't need to trade in a PS3 to be able to buy an XB1.
You can sell your PS3 on your own.

I'm totally failing to see how somebody offering a discount on tech by trade in is unethical.

Are you going to get the current retail value out of your used tech? No, it's used. But it's not like the people who offer these trade in programs are going to get any use out of what is traded in anyway. Hopefully they donate the items to charity rather than destroy them, but I somehow doubt it.

    Apdenton (no surprise there)

What is wrong with achievement hunting? It's an aspect of gaming that is fun and adds replay value to games.

Also way to go on again criticising people over their console choice and way of playing games.

There is plenty wrong with achievements themselves, let alone achievement hunters, but never mind.

Yes I bashed people's console choices just then. Fine, I'll leave you all to it, mug yourselves off and support the nonsense. It's too late for the console market anyway.
