That is just how people feel about microsoft, the same company that makes a controller battery pack a 25 dollar extra purchase. The same company that requires you pay monthly to access your netflix, which you are already paying monthly for.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai

You can buy codes for some games directly from Amazon, as well as XBL/PS+ cards. The codes are delivered to you digitally, no need to leave the comfort of your home. I *think* you can do the same with Gamestop, not sure about Walmart. I'm not getting into your other thoughts, because they don't have anything to do with the current topic.Originally Posted by jook13

Obviously all speculation at this point but if this is true, I will be buying an(other) Xbox One!
Yes they do. Most notable is that you don't actually own any of the games you buy. If steam dies then so does your gaming library. For Xbox it doesn't really matter I suppose, as the consoles themselves die on a regular basis. At least you own the disc though, it's yours. You can lend it to a friend, put it in another machine no hassle, sell it, frame it on your wall or whatever.Originally Posted by Blastergamer

The faulty hardware history should be more than enough to dissuade any half-sane gamer! Oh wait, we have two here that work directly for M$ :/
People are calmly discussing the possibility of a console without an optical drive and you label them fanboys because they may or may not have purchased a console that you feel is inadequate? People are going to buy what they want to, sir.Originally Posted by apdenton1
The "unethical corporate warfare" you mentioned is not new, sir. Samsung offered me $100 for my iPhone in exchange for a Note 2. This isn't some new thing that MS is doing to mess with people. It's not some dirty tactic. It's a very common occurrence when selling new tech to offer trade-ins on your own, and your competitor's, older tech to increase sales. It also works.
Can you get more for a PS3 if you sell it yourself? Sure. You could also get more money by selling your used games than taking them to GameStop. It's not always about what you can make so much as the convenience of not having to sell it yourself.
By all means, continue to dislike whatever companies you feel the need to dislike, but please at least be on topic and refrain from posting things that insinuate that anyone who does not think exactly as you do is a fool. There are so many places where the "Console Wars" are these big rage filled arguments on a daily basis, but this doesn't need to be one of those places.

I'm seeing double there, sirOriginally Posted by ShiftySamurai![]()
I don't need to research. I've seen it happen again and again. The MS store still sells games for 49.99 that you could go to gamestop and pick up for 7.99 used. For people like Blaster, going somewhere to get them for cheaper isn't an option. Claiming Amazon and other online supermarkets will have games for cheaper is half right, but they won't always have the games everyone is looking for.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
Going digital will ruin gaming (especially used games stores). Especially with how many gigs everything is now. My XB1 is full and my second XB1 is over half full and they both have different games on them. My PS3 and PS4 don't have that problem. Hell, my two 360's and NTSC-J 360 don't have that problem. But you can buy (keyword here is buy) another larger harddrive to accommodate more games, but even 2 terabytes won't last long when some games are 35+ gigs with 5 gig updates.
Let the game run on discs like they always have, it was stupid of Microsoft to do things this way.
If it wasn't for a very generous friend, I would only have one 360 and the Trials games. I haven't paid for a single disc or arcade game since PS2 (just information in case you try to say I'm supporting M$).
The battery pack may increase the console price, or you won't have the headset for exchange. If you don't want to pay Gold for Netflix, then don't and watch it on PC. Anyone who has a game console has a Smartphone/Tablet/PC, so Xbox 360 for Netfilx is not necessary.Originally Posted by jook13
There are websites which sell codes and directly send it to an email, that's the quickest way to get MSP/Gift Cards.
Some people don't (like to) buy used games, and want to keep their game library in one (or few more) small place, and that's the storage drive. This is the reason why a bunch of people wanted the original Xbox One policy, since they run/switch games WITHOUT to put in the disc hassle.Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ
I would be better buying an 1-2TB external HDD for the same size as the Xbox360 HDD, instead clutter up the room with 50 game boxes. People are afraid they can't sell their games, but that does mostly happen because they buy games 60$ on game launch, and that's a bit too high.
People should also consider MS wants to compete with Steam on the game marketing, so if the xbox game market gets digital, we may see first-month 50% off game price, and games can be WAY better since developers will have all the money from every owner. I think people forget that factor about the dev's income.
Then you should call Valve the biggest idiot that Steam games don't run with discs.Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ![]()
Almost any game you can get on valve you can get on disc. But Valve routinely has crazy sales. When was the last time M$ had sales like Valve?Originally Posted by Blastergamer
I've been referring to consoles this whole time, apparently you missed that.
Steam game discs are only made for installing, and you have to activate the key code in the box. You can install steam games on every computer, but without an account with the game key, you cannot run the game. Yes, valve has routinely crazy sales, and MS/Sony not, but that's because used games exist there, while on Steam there is not. MS is just not there yet, like I said just in my previous post:Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ
