I see my mistake. I still underestimate the power of the dumb masses, so you are right. All the dumb people would just abuse it and probably make us hate the feature.Originally Posted by sparkierjonesz
A solution could be a feature to make friend groups where you can share things with (so more private). I think that could work. Maybe
But defenitly not starting with buying/selling stuff...
I don't think this game needs public object/track sharing (outside of Track Central).
It would be cool if you could build with multiple people on tracks tho, something like a "cloud" saved file you can give access to friends on, same for a favorites database, it promotes team building if it's available equally on all platforms built-in the game. (not saying cross-platform here, just if it's built in the game equally per platform)
Public sharing however, not too fancy of it, I'd much rather see a much bigger toolset for terrain and objects, as well as new scaling and texture/color options. DLC filled in a large gap for Xbox (sometimes I get a bit jealous at it as PC player), and I hope with fusion it will be launched with even more worlds/objects etc etc on all platforms.
What I'd like to see though is a way to edit or delete your own tracks that are out on TC, at least for tracks that aren't older then a certain period of time, or before it gets large amounts of downloads, and have no big tags like RL pick.
Sometimes you want to edit small details you don't notice until after it's released. And I personally just leave it like it, cause I hate double track releases within days (unless it's fundamentally broken mechanics due to some mistakes in coding like skillgames might have, or collision settings for supercross lanes etc).
A store for fake trails money. Ya that would be cool. Like you sell a custom sound sequence for like 15k and people could buy it. Just so people couldnt share with other people, those custom sound sequences could be sold in like a pack so its like one object.that would be sick but idk if its possible or not
... you would get to pick and choose who you sell to. Hmm but i remember somebody saying something about stabbing in the back. Well im just not sure
I don't think this would be possible. People would download different versions of the track and I don't see that working in practice. And to be honest I don't think it would be a good idea too. I know it's possible to forget something stupid, but it's not the end of the world. You need to learn from mistakes and move on. It would enable people to not test the track properly because you can just change things later. It's up to the builder to test the track and fix everything before releasing it, I like how the share button now is "a defenitive save of the track".Originally Posted by TeriXeri
The main problem i see with this is playing tracks with friends, if they didn't download (or bought) the custom object(s) that are used in a certain track it will become a pain to setup private matches, even more than it is right now trying to play a DLC track with someone who doesn't have the DLC.. which already looks kind of annoying to deal with.
Maybe if people could get together and create a community DLC with a bunch of new objects/skins/tracks that could then be downloaded or bought that might be worth thinking about..
True, it might overcomplicate things especially leaderboards, people might get really annoyed after trying to get like a good run and then getting it deleted is really bad idea.Originally Posted by basslineux001
And your right, better to move forward then hang onto the same track, everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
Anyway back to main topic about about ingame currency, would be cool to give like some ingame $ per time playing multiplayer or customs as alternative to grinding out single player, not per track basis cause that could be misused with 1 second tracks.
It is possible for games that use Steam Workshop for their custom content. If an author updates his creation for some reason, it auto-updates for everyone that is subscribed to it, so everyone has the same version all the time.Originally Posted by basslineux001
