Anyone one else seen the second part: desolation of smaug?
The cinema (theatre) I went to was packed out, litterally got the last top half seats left, and we bought tickets 2 hours before, nearly the whole bottom half was packed, and it's been out for a good few weeks. Since the 11th I think, if anyone hasn't seen it, I suggest seeing it because it's amazing.
Also I don't know if anyone else noticed but I thought it was funny how one of the Orcs or Goblins said 'we are legion' in the film near the end, which is the hacking group 'anonymous' little motto. Guess the movie maker wanted to give the people watching it the message anonymous are the 'goblins/bad people' of the earth xD
Nope. Didn't care for LotR, so not gonna bother with the hobbit.
Lol, yeah I noticed that too, Don't know how much to put Into it, but funny to encounter that In a movie, especially the hobbit.
Lolwat at least they followed the books in LOTR. for the most part.Originally Posted by MrGiggles
I mean 'we are legion' isn't even proper English if I'm not mistaken? I dunno, thought it was really funny, hobbit always has hidden messages in it, the first one did as well.Originally Posted by TheElmonator
It's propably a bible reference instead of having anything to do with Anonymous imho. That would effectively mean that goblins / orcs are depicted as "demons".Originally Posted by NSPIVeNoMz
OR it just means that there's a big pile of them, one of the two.![]()
Jackson has implied many times that the Hobbit movies are also showing what was going on in Middle Earth that time. Because if you've read the Tolkien books you kinda know what was happening around the world at the same time the events of Hobbit were playing out and Jackson wanted to show that to the fans. I think it's a nice touch. The source material is a children's book so adding some legit material on top of that to make a better movie out of it is not a bad idea IMO.Originally Posted by ShartRelief
i like what they did in the movies, it might not follow the book exactly and i like it.
it would have been easier for them to make a disney/pixar/kids movie from it, because the book has the same demografic
i like how they added some more background info on stuff that wasn't written in the book or too a lesser degree
they didn't need to redo the arwen scene though or the little love thingy arc![]()
It is meant to imply that it doesn't matter how many you kill, there are always hundreds more.
The full correct quote is "Call me Legion, for I am many" it is in reference to the devil or more to general evil. (The devil takes many forms) (there will always be evil) etc.
It was also the tag line for The Exorcist 3 I think.
It's also in This poem...
The quote is " my name is legion, for we are many "...although with so many versions of the Bible they could all be technically correct
Watched The Hobbit myself last night, cool movie...the end was the biggest rooster torment of all the LOTR/Hobbit stuff so far imo.
