Something that has been worrying me was that Trials Fusion is going to XBLA again on Xbox 360. I've browsed through upcoming games on ubi.com and saw "XBLA" written in the list too, and now after Jonny (thanks Jonny!) found it, which seems to be final platform decision, which makes one main point dissatisfied despite being on XBLA.
Thing we'll know about an XBLA game is that is going to cost 20$ or less, but can't say it's 'pro' neither 'con' considering RedLynx's income but won't lose money on XBLA due to no discs=no used games.
My true 'pro' thing is that I won't need to wait for the meaningless download version delay by seeing most publishers delay if Ubi would consider doing this to Fusion too. Well, that's not the main point.
The main 'con' point on XBLA for me is the very limited file size limit, having only 2GB available, which could mean smaller worlds, not seeing more # of objects and the important complexity limit in the editor IF the graphics are better too.
In a nutshell:
Pro's about XBLA:
Price (for unfamiliar people with trials)
No 'on demand' version delay.[/list:a0ah8wec]
Con about XBLA:
The 2GB game size limit.[/list:a0ah8wec]
I'm not worried about it. It's gonna be better all around.
EDIT
This is HIGHLY improbable, but they could make the world and tracks the part you buy and have the editor as a free download, giving them as much space as they need.
And RL haven't confirmed anything, so we don't know whether its arcade or retail.
I feel like M$ might be slightly more "lenient" on the 2GB rule for the XBLA version. I can see this game being WELL over the 2gb limit for the XBLA version assuming the next gen and old gen versions are the same.
"Max: The Curse Of Brotherhood" came out on XB1 today at a whopping 3GB, which will also be releasing on XBLA early next year, and im assuming it will be the same game.
I can imagine Trials game being a far bigger file size due to the sheer amount of content im assuming the game will have compared to something like Max or Peggle 2 (1.7gb and also comming to XBLA).
Personally, i would love to see the XB1 version released in disk format, and possibly even the xbla version, which i imagine is possible since XBLA games have been released on disk in the past (Minecraft comes to mind). I will be buying both the XB1 version and the XBLA version, hopefully on disk for the XB1 but i would rather download a game on the XBLA.
With all the games on demand in excess of 5gbs on average, if don't see why XBLA wouldn't increase the max to 6gb. To really take advantage of the next gen system, I don't think 3gb would cut it. I'm sure they have weighed the pros and cons of an arcade vs full title, but I'm guessing arcade...only due to the lack of interest in this type of game. Evo sold 1.5 million, but if you increase the cost to $60...you'd probably sell 300k. I'm sure they'd rather have a bigger install base to maximize the dlc releases.
I'm curious to see the graphical difference in the XBONE vs 360. I don't think it will vary drastically, but hope so...otherwise I may own a 360 for another few years.
