@ANBA: I, and many others, want a "static" game. I`m not willing to compromise on that. I want to pay one reasonable fee and own the game. And IAPs should be purely cosmetic.
First of all, I'm NOT ANBA. Secondly, my post doesn't have anything to do with Frontier, the fuel/gas thing or changing our business model.
If I find a game that I really like, I want to keep playing it. I want dynamic.Originally Posted by jook13

What FatShady posted is exactly what we are looking for.
i don't want only static games, some games are great because additional content can be made that adds alot of fun and can change stuff in mayor ways and i like thatOriginally Posted by xzamplez
as for cosmetic iap: they are good way to give some extra content for people who like that stuff, but they can be ignored which is fine but only if those people still payed for what it costs to develop all the other stuff they play
as for whats best to do, i don't know, the only game i played on my phone is angry birds and snake and that was free, or already on my phone
so i don't know what the best paymodels on a phone are
just release it on pc or console, where good paymodels exist![]()
A SMARTPHONE game with such HIGH transactions?? These games should never have so high prices and then receive such a little value in the game which are probably wasted in a week. Man, 100 bucks, you could buy an OUYA console with this or eat enough food for a month! Smartphone games aren't high quality. They don't have breathtaking sound, they are too weak to have a nice atmosphere in games, and with only a few-inch screen.
Man, today the smartphone market is not innovative. They make cartoon-ish games without even taking a lot of time do do. They make them F2P, but then, like Jook said, THE DOORS INSIDE ARE LOCKED. I play a while.....and WHAT?? It saying you need to pay coins to CONTINUE playing?? And there is no option to BUY the full game?? Who would be willingly to pay that? Who would blindly GRIND for that bit?
I enjoy Trials Evolution with only 30$ [edit: sorry, it's 25$] and played it for nearly 20x24 hours! I get the editor, community, SP tracks, MP in Evo all in that price, but how about Frontier? It has wayyyyy less features and content, and still, you would need to buy/grind coins to enjoy!! I love static games, and if the game is great for you, you would spend hundreds of hours for less than 100$ without interruption playing that static game, like how it is with Skyrim, Trials, Minecraft, Halo etc. Then, they are way more popular and comedy than Smartphone games!
Back before 2010, there were a lot of FULL free-to-enjoy games on handys, when smartphone wasn't widespread yet. These handy games were not big, but they were something to do when you were bored somewhere outside. You didn't played them for long of course, but enough variety of handy games were there to play and enjoy.
100% agree with Jook (again) on this. I don't know if values (peoples principles not cost) are changing, but I see F2P as such an awful, exploitative concept. When a "game" is designed using this model it isn't done so with the gamer in mind in order to bring them the best gaming experience possible; it's only focus is "what kind of money can we make out of it but still give the gamer a satisfactory experience?". I'm glad Francis is realising this too!![]()
Also, and maybe it's just me, but I think anyone who spends more than the cost of Evo for a mobile game is either A: An Idiot
B: Has more money than sense.
I will never support anything made using this business model (no matter how great a game RedLynx could make -sorry!). I find all this so so disappointing. It's greedy. It's wrong. Guess I'm just a romantic..
EDIT: You make some good points too Blaster!
I hope you aren't serious. Some mobile platforms (including tablets) are starting to have more processing power than the last generation of consoles. You can also attach them to a TV.Originally Posted by Blastergamer

Some nice points Blaster!! I say that Trials frontier is a high quality game but it could be much better.
IMHO. Trials Frontier as F2P is a wrong idea...
Played Frontier alot and also I did buy some packs so I know how it works...
"Full experience" purchase for 20$ would be great. 5$ for each bike? it´s also a nice option.
I remember that MotoHeroz have some nice ways to get coins, those "hidden" chests, the reward for 3 stars on each track... I bought a single pack looking for a "boost" and that was enough to be able to fully upgrade ALL the buggies... and right now I have 1.000.000 coins waiting for the "last" update and spend them on the new buggie... that system works perfect IMO.
If you find a way to make the ingame purchase system more friendly you will get more players, more players = more money.
Coins more coins!! 200 coins as a reward for complete a track is not enough due to the fact that some parts cost 100.000 coins... thats insane... This make me think on this >>> how much will cost the Tier III upgrades??
Gems. I hate them... Please, keep only coins for the ingame purchases, fuel, upgrades and such...
A fuel can on the roulette would be great ( Nice one monstified)
The game is great, the "History mode" is nicely done and the "challenges" are also great. but I can´t say the same on the upgrade system... As I said yesterday the current system is insanely expensive.
I love some tracks, few DLs are really addictive an fun to play. Great work RL.
Okay, honest mistake. Secondly, it has everything to do with the the business model. You talk about needing money to eat, and refer to single payment games as "static". The whole thread is about greedy money practices.Originally Posted by AnttiKi

£10 per month for all my gaming needs on any device sounds good? ( I guess we are nowhere near)
