No. The consumer does not have a choice of how long they want to play a game for, unless of course they choose to keep paying and paying money which is the inherent problem here.

No cause is lost (or "silly") if there is but one fool left to fight for it. Games are meant to be played the way the consumer wants to play them, whether in bursts or in long sessions. This business model forces the consumer to keep paying more than usual for this privilege and that is why an enthusiast would complain. The truly silly thing to do would be to NOT complain about something you do not like.

    1. I WISH to play this Trials game to my satisfaction
    2. I WON'T be able to do so because of its business model
    3. Therefore, I WILL be "missing out on a trials game"
-If we lived in a world where we gave up on things because we are not satisfied with them then we'd be living in a terrible world indeed.

The OP has a right to ask for an option to buy a full version of the game ONCE. My ideal solution would be to include it as an exclusive bundle with trials fusion(with both games' prices included), thereby not affecting the casual F2P market while simultaneously rewarding the trials fans who want frontier as well.
Couldn't have said it better myself!

I like the idea of alternatives but please be nothing like Candy Crush. They make you advertise their game for them in order to get some limited benefit i.e. hearts/more play time.

Re: Trials Frontier- Unlimited Gas Petition

I’m glad that most of us can agree to the fact that a great trials game and f2p just does not matchup. I believe that this game has potential to be so much more if only we had an option to purchase unlimited gas. I’m not asking to completely change the f2p model that it is. All I’m asking is give us the option to be able to play the game without limits. I am quite certain that if I had unlimited gas, I would definitely spend my real money here and there at times for instant gratification(on coins and gems for upgrades).
This petition may be a long shot, but I think it is definitely worth a try. I suspect that representatives of Redlynx often frequent these forums, so if you agree with this petition, please reply with- “unlimited Gas” or “Frontier Unlimited” or continue to post your suggestions. Thank You!

This thread can only really be a place to vent frustrations, surely?

The business model they have chosen here of F2P (modeled, it seems, on games like Candy Crush) will have been taken much higher up than by anyone likely to be involved in the forums.
For me, if I were a developer and had sunk hours and hours into developing and creating a Trials game, compromising the structure of the game to make extra cash would certainly be upsetting, but since when do devs get to make business decisions?

In the end, it surely comes down to making money rather than creating something exactly the way you wanted it to be I guess
Being able to make the game you envisaged seems to be a luxury no longer afforded to most devs, in the current financial climate.

F2P is very divisive: you either like it or hate it...no prizes for guessing how I feel about it, but then I am not the bean counter for a games company.
I won't be picking this up ( I am pretty sure they won't add in a 'buy it outright' option ), but there will be plenty of casual Trials players who will love it, and plenty of those who will be willing to buy into this model.

Skag buddy! Long time no see

I play candy crush almost daily, well, not as of recently playing some other mobile games. I have never seen them FORCE you to advertise for them to gain more hearts/play time. Not really sure what you mean by more play time, so I'll assume you just mean more hearts lol

Candy crush offers you more hearts for free if you watch some video ad, or play their other games, but thats usually a one shot deal. There is no need to ad for the game if you have enough friends to give you hearts daily as i do. I don't see the harm in this really. and we're talking about trials here right?

Isn't Redlynx a game dev you would WANT to ad for and show off their awesome games no? And in the process you'd be able to play longer 'm not suggesting to force people to ad for the game for more fuel). But again, I've never seen this forced ad business you speak of, curious what you get for it. Regardless. I wasn't talking anything about forcing ads for fuel. I mearly suggested giving fuel to your friends (hearts as in Candy crush)

How does this hurt? It gives you more fuel, and if you can save the message (please allow saving messages) than you really wouldn't need "unlimited fuel" as a friend can just send you some and you save in the reserves when you really need it. win/win

Re: Trials Frontier- Unlimited Gas Petition

no i don't want to ad anything, nor do i want to need friends to play a game properly

and it isn't win win because it would be balanced with friends in mind and if you don't, you might miss out on stuff

you have tried to make other people play the game because you wanted more fuel/hearts/whatever

i have nothing against f2p but i have something against nickel and dimeing, i don't want to be asked every 5 seconds if i want to buy something with real money
i want to pay for a complete game experience
if the devs expand on the experience i want to pay for it too if its good
and they can make a cheaper reduced experience as some kind of demo

i don't want to be able to skip gameplay with real money because that means the gameplay sucks

    I disagree with this.

It is silly to leave the FTP model and not adding a full unlock price by the developers. Why people dislike FTP is they want not to pay something that is temporary in a game, they pay stuff that they can keep. People are smart not to buy coins, because once you buy coins it pulls you in to addicted money paying, and that's why developers do this. It gets you out of control paying money. If RedLynx would stop listening to whoever advises FTP, and make a real trials out of it, remove upgrades, remove fuel system in a premium version.

RedLynx can leave this FTP model but it is a bad decision because fans will leave.
That means less support on them= less fame and money.

Smartphone markets is never going to succeed with good games.

    @ jarret
How the hell did you compare Trials Frontier with Candy Crush?? OMG!

If RL or Ubi don´t change the bikes upgrading system this game will be a real disappointment for everyone imo, players and devs... Players, will hate the upgrading system for sure and rage quit the game really quick and devs will notice that an awesome game is being playing for a really short number of people.
Trials Frontier the best F2P game that I have ever played! but probably I will not play it as much as it deserves due to the current bikes upgrading system.
Right now if you are looking for a full upgrade bike by paying it will cost about 70€/$ per bike... I suspect that there will be a Tier IV so there will be 12 bikes... 12x70= 840€/$
Hope the final version have a cheaper upgrading system.

Easy mati lol fuel= candy crush heart. They are the same to me.

No fuel, no play. No hearts, no play.

If friends can gift fuel guess what? You can play longer. How could anyone be arguing that logic? I'm not saying GO PLAY CANDY CRUSH lol I'm sorry for suggesting a better solution. Hear that redlynx? They wanna pay for their fuel when they run out instead of getting it FREE from their friends because they hate candy crush
