Just finished setting up my Xbox One which was pretty straight forward. Gotta say I love using the Kinect to not enter those 16 digit DLC codes manually. Surprisingly a little disappointed with the controller. It's a tad too small for my hands now and the sticks feel too close together. I know I'll adjust, but doesn't feel as natural as the 360 controller to me.
PS4 is a tad more complicated as I upgraded the HDD to a 1TB SSHD. The pluses are super fast load times and plenty of storage. The pain is that the only way to get your ps4 working (if you upgrade the HDD) is to manually download the latest firmware from the SCE website and place it in a directory /PS4/UPDATE/ on a USB drive and boot it up with the USb drive plugged in. Could have made it a tad more user friendly if you ask me.
A big plus is I love the new Sony controller. Feels more comfortable than the Xbox One controller for me despite the analogue stick placement. Really surprised me I was expecting things to be the other way around.
Just some very initial thoughts after setting up both consoles.
EDIT: One other lame point that I am sure alot of you are already aware of. I recall all the furor when M$ initially announced that Xbone was not going to come with a headset and Sony announced that the PS4 would. After all that M$ ends up packing a usable headset in while Sony includes an el-cheapo earpiece that's not even good enough for your garbage bin![]()

killzone Shadow fall love it or hate it is head and shoulders the most technically impressive launch title on any platform. Prettiest next gen game by quite a bit IMHO, but Ryse is up there and depending on your tastes you may prefer it.
I know it's early days, but ps4 out of the gate is the more impressive system imho. Snappier more responsive UI and nearly all of the 3rd party games have an edge. Looks like it will be my main system for 3rd party titles this round if things continue this way.
Going to be an interesting next few years.
edit: post is a bit random i know.
If all the consoles are out, isn't it time to start talking about this gen?
I can't review my Xbox One console, since all I have done is watch tv with it.
But I am concerned about the Xbone controller, the sticks are small and quite loose. I'm afraid it's gonna be garbage for shooters.
And I want to use my headset! Playing a game without it is just barbaric.
