I never thought it would be an issue seeing as my channel was extremely small but YouTube went full gay

Also, ive recently got a load of new things open to me on my youtube channel..The Creation Tool editing has got quite alot of content now, and Free music is one of them...Have any of you guys got this too???
A quick fact:- youtubers upload 200 hours worth of content per second...
I don't use the word 'gay' to imply something negative but assuming you mean its gone **** as f*ck then yes I agree. Its gone steadily downhill ever since Google bought it and the last couple months have been ridiculous. The merging of Google+ and YT is, for me, the single worst change to a website I like since I started using the internet. Now this as well. Christ..Originally Posted by ClutchMystaFlex
I can't complain TOO much 'cos to be fair, the website is free and I don't do anything to make it continue to existuse Adblock so don't even have to be subjected to any adverts) but I think its safe to say that YT is doing absolutely fine and has no problems getting income. So its just such a shame to see this site continue to get worse. The annoying thing is that it was fine before any of these changes. It. Was. Fine. Its just simply Google trying to force things down people's throats that no-one ever asked for and was never asked about.
Edit: Yeah about your point as well... its utterly absurd that some music company or some game company or whoever could ever in their right mind honestly f*cking care about someone making a video for their buddies that might not even make a hundred views.. why should the little guy be getting punished by these big companies for using a song that they probably paid for anyway. By this logic if Google owned a music venue when you go to see a DJ there whenever he put on a song Google would cut the amps and wait for confirmation by the individual recording companies that it was OK before turning them back on. Except the DJ would probably be getting paid or at least be getting some monetary gain out of it. Why should someone who's only uploading stuff for a bit of fun with no intention of ever earning money out of it be getting punished by a music corporation that this person has ALREADY paid for the song. So if we were all being monitored by Google we shouldn't ever play our music through speakers in case someone was listening to it who hadn't paid for it. How dare they.
What's also hilarious is how an absolute ****-ton of this stuff is already advertising for the respective companies. Am I the only one who finds it perplexing how you have to sit through an advert to watch a movie/game trailer (which is an advert...)
So... I just looked up my videos and i had three of these "claims" for songs in my videos, which are complete bs. I know for a fact the labels that released the music isn't looking on youtube videos to claim ownership. Would a small (And not even active anymore ffs!!) label from finland with 9 releases IN TOTAL flag my non monetized trials evo video cause i used a part of their song? I highly doubt it's one of their concerns. This is just a very shadowy, and maybe probably illegal, way for google to make more money. Seriously considering stopping using youtube altoghether, even if it means losing a pretty large part of my entartainment.

Hey guys,
There have been some changes to YouTube policy that have affected a lot of YouTube users. As you may know Ubisoft has a very liberal policy allowing gamers to use Ubisoft properties on their YouTube channels with or without monitization. If you are not aware of that policy you can find details on it here.
Obviously we at RedLynx and Ubisoft as a whole would like for you all to continue to be able to upload videos featuring our games. With that in mind there are people at Ubisoft working with YouTube and license holders to try to clear these copyright claims from videos featuring Ubisoft content. Of course we can only help with videos that only feature content from Ubisoft games so if you are using music from a third party I don't know that we will be able to help. At the moment I don't have any updates on the progress of this but I'll be sure to inform you as soon as I know more.
