I wasn't really sure the first time it was because of the uplay update but now I'm pretty much 99% sure it's that. And yeah I don't need to do that, only if I want to play the game I bought...wich is ridiculous. And at first I tought if I do it now, it will work again for a few months wich would be a pain in the *** but mildly acceptable since I try to do a reinstall of windows every 6 months. But if I'm going to have the problem with every update now, I'm not bothering with reinstalling windows every time. And with the bad performance/slow TC it's not even worth it. I had the same problem 2 months ago, you had the problem maybe a month ago and there hasn't even been one response from RL on the problem. And I couldn't care less about a patch for TC if I'm not able to play a stable game...or yeah, not even being able to play it at allOriginally Posted by Muldozer
Hey guys, reinstalling your operating system to get Gold Edition to launch after a Uplay update isn't intended. I'm working on getting answers and a workaround for this.
I am assuming that no crash report is being made, as it seems that the system believes the game is actually running.
There is no crash report. When I start the game from Uplay/steam the process trialsFMX.exe starts in the taskmanager but does nothing. The play button in uplay is greyed out so uplay thinks the game is running (probably because trialsFMX.exe is loaded) I have to close it from the task manager, then Uplay says "thank you for playing"
There is no more information I can really give about the problem except that nothing worked to fix it
things I tried:
older graphic drivers (Nvidia)
reinstalling steam/uplay/trials with a registery cleaner after uninstalling them
removing/editing config file (in documents/ubisoft/config)
removing downloaded tracks/favorites
deleting data folder in trials/ubisoft maps
beta steam client
starting in uplay offline
Hi Bassline, i don't know how can help you, i never have problems with Uplay updates, and i don't use Steam. If you fix it reinstalling Windows so your problem might be there, i guess. What Windows are you using?, i play on Windows 7 32 bits and i never had any problems with Trials.
So, I have no idea why because I saw no updates for uplay/steam. But when I tried Trials today the game actually worked. I'll try it again tonight to see if it still works.
Well nevermind, I was just being lucky. When I closed the game the TrialsFMX.exe process was still running. I closed uplay/trialsfmx/steam with the taskmanager to try it again and I have the same problem again. Game doesn't start up and the process is running in the task manager.
Maybe your uplay account is damaged or corrupted, do you have others games in Uplay to test?
Yes, every other game works that I own (in uplay and steam). I have no idea why it can work one minute and be broken again the next.Originally Posted by edgardcx
as to give more information on the problem: I did a clean boot with windows (setup in msconfig) and tried starting the game, but it wouldn't work. Then I stopped the processes (TrialsFMX.exe, uplay, steam) I opened steam, clicked play, uplay started and the game also started. I'm going to try a few things and then add some more info in this post.
Update:
For some reason my firewall was causing the problem (online armor free). I don't know how an ubisoft update can affect the firewall or if this 'not loading problem' was different than the two I had before. But it's happened 3 times after a uplay update, that can't be a coincidence in my opinion. The 'program guard' option (don't know the exact name in english) was turned off, when I turned it back on again the game seems to load without any problems.
Good to hear it's working again for you manOriginally Posted by basslineux001![]()
