    Battleship Dev Log

    So I've decided on a whim to make Battleship 'm bored of the idea already!)(j/k) So I'll be posting whatever I'm working on in here. Feel free to give ideas.. or take them. Really, as long as someone makes it and does a good job I'll be happy! I'd like to do that color thing where RED means bad feature, BLUE is maybe and GREEN is for sure but for now it's all Maybe.



    Update 1
    The beginning of the game will show a map room for placing the boats, then change to the world view to show them at a medium scale, 'cause aircraft carriers are really, really big. I'd really like to stick with Default + Pain Island tileset, although I know Desert has some really cool pieces..

    There may not be any enemy boats, unless I use just one to show the impact of a shell. To show the enemy on a grid would take away the guessing. Another idea though is to have an empty grid and just a hit marker that changes to show the entire ship once it has been destroyed. This would be in addition to the targeting screen where you would put your pegs; that screen is for sure and I have a pretty good idea how it will look. I'd like to use Pain Island as a background so an enemy grid may not even fit. I think it'll look good enough to not require one.

    At first I though that using the Emitter would be the easiest, but that thing only fires straight + gravity, which can make the shots unpredictable. So instead I may go with munition types - Shell, Rocket, Aircraft - & just OPE it to the boat that's firing.

    Good luck jolan! I know I could make this game, so I have no doubt you can! Maybe it will get me back on Evo
