Indeed, focus on aliens/zombies and multiplayer instead.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
Yeah...that idea may be a little biased as sometimes I like hipfiring people across the map, lol. Have to drop shot a lot for the extra accuracy.although not really sure about extra hip-fire accuracy, theres plenty of that going around imo, if anything I'd want less.
Very true. However I do have many other ideas up in my head somewhere....I could do a similar looking list myself. Thing is though, and I think you'd agree, as important as all that may be to you - none of them are huge changes, there is no complete gameplay overhaul included there; they are all just tweaks (sp aside), and they have been making changes on the same scale as those for the last 6 years or so - just not those specific ones.
Yeah, the hate probably stems from all the weak CoD clones the most. I don't think other devs/publishers get that people like CoD for the multiplayer aspects, not the atrocious singleplayer. Well, some people actually like the singleplayer, but I question their sanity/gaming experience.Honestly, DLC practices aside, I think their reputation is unfairly negative.
Dunno, CoD4 & MW2 received a lot of awards and good reviews. I'd give them similar, but minus points for the campaigns. If Blops2 or MW3 came out as a brand new franchise - the first Call of Duty.. it would be hailed as one of the greatest releases ever and praised for its incredible gameplay and multiplayer structure. But because its built on an already established franchise, its the devil.
MW3 I'd give a 7.5 at best, despite being good (because same formula and a couple of good new design ideas), because it's a half-assed copy n paste effort.
Ah, remembered another idea: can use pistols on ladders since they are the weakest weapon class overall, and one-handed obviously.
I won't be getting CoD, but I think I know why it gets so much hate.
People enjoy hating trendy things. Look at Apple with their iPads and iPhones... People always throw hate at them, but they also sell crap loads of product. Hating CoD makes people feel like non-conformists, and everybody wants to be a rebel sometimes.
I haven't bought a CoD since MW2, and I probably won't pick up this one unless I get really bored after XB1's launch, but CoD games have always been solid, even if they aren't for me.
PS: Increase hip fire accuracy? If I were trying to improve an FPS game it wouldn't be by making it easier for people to dive around corners and kill like Rambo.
Except the singleplayer campaigns, and here is a good argument as to why despite the game on display being MOH: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOHyD49DaeAOriginally Posted by ShiftySamurai
All MMS campaigns are the same; Dragon's Lair FPS'.
Also, cannot say they have always been solid if you haven't played since MW2![]()
Black Ops 2 was a laggy mess with clusterfuck maps and MW3 was half-assed with some real questionable design decisions.
Black Ops 1 was OK, though had minor lag issues and the guns were very unbalanced and felt like spud guns.
And why not? Most other shooters are considered more skill-based because of 100% hipfire accuracy in combination with no aim assist. Aim assist range in cod is increased when you aim down the sights. When not aiming down the sights the range isn't anywhere near as far.PS: Increase hip fire accuracy? If I were trying to improve an FPS game it wouldn't be by making it easier for people to dive around corners and kill like Rambo.
That said, as it is is acceptable and mostly a nice balance. Drop shotting gives me close to 100% hipfire accuracy for most guns anyway![]()
I didn't say that I haven't played since MW2. I said I haven't bought one since MW2. I still have friends who buy and play each CoD game as soon as they come out. I don't have an issue with the single player either.
Hip firing shouldn't be accurate. There, in my opinion, should be a difference in games between sighted accuracy and hip accuracy, especially at anything more than 10ft. If I take the time to shoulder my weapon and fire, then I should be more likely to hit you than if you just spray and pray from the hip.
thats the publishers task not the devs, devs try to make fun games and want people to enjoy it, money is secundairy ,something they need to live fromOriginally Posted by WILLYUMZ
anyway now my oppinion on cod, i'll start with saying that cod is a great game, kinda more of the same but thats not really a bad thing since it works great
the thing that bothers me alot is the business model i don't wanna pay 100bucks each year just to play this game
when i played it i had fun, i basicly had enough fun to make me wanna pay for dlc if i could enjoy more of the same or some thing extra, if i bought it
the issue is i don't wanna get the dlc because its too expensive for what it is, the game pretty much forces you to buy the dlc and next games because thats where the most action/fun is
and i can't say screw it, i'm just gonna keep playing this "outdated"(because of new dlc or next years edition) game because i'm not casual enough and have many other amazing games to play
i just don't wanna spend money on it so i can be one of the "popular" kids too
i feel like AAA in general is starting to just want as much cash as posible and trying to become as mainstream as posible
in music it was easy to ditch certain mainstream and hypes because i didn't like the sound , here it feels like the devil ask for my soul just to have some fun,but he is like "i'm innocent, i just want some cash"
another thing i would like to add, for me the sp and mp are 2 completly different games, mp is great sp isi you wanna play an onrail shooter you might aswell play time crisis right that was atleast fun
imo they should just seperate the 2 create a mp only game that they patch and make dlc for till they think they need a completly new version that really pushes it forward
and if they want to they can make a sp experience with the call of duty name to wether its the same semi on rails way or something different
and that might fix this messed up businessmodel because the way it is now i don't see it working out for much longer , like they messed up guitar hero with greed![]()
they might survive though like some pop artists do
INCREASE HIPFIRE?!
Hipfire is already far too powerful
You dont have to though, there are plenty of people still playing old CoD games - you could just get one every 2 years and skip an installment.Originally Posted by sparkierjonesz
And the money-hungry business model is inevitable. Profitable ideas and methods wont be ignored just to please us, especially when they know people will buy it regardless.
Fully agree with that. It seemed even more potent in Blops2 aswell, SMG hip-fire in that was insane, I hope IW have dialed it back.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
That's also true, but it needs to be one or the other, not both. Either ditch the ADS in favour of 100% hipfire accuracy, or reduce the hipfire accuracy.Originally Posted by apdenton1
Indeed, but I did say increase it slightly for most weapons. Not 100%. I'm talking a 5% increase for most weapons.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
Same amount of damage as ADS.Originally Posted by Euan
And with Stalker/stock hipfiring is almost irrelevant.
I'm talking 5% increase with certain weapons/weapon classes, Pistols for one. Most people wouldn't even notice it.Originally Posted by WILLY
I also did say it was a biased idea because I like to challenge myself by hipfiring across the map (no aim assist and accuracy penalty). Indeed if it were a 5% increase for SMGs that may cause an issue, but there needs to be a greater variation of hipfire accuracy, pistols especially.
sure i can skip an installment, but it doesn't feel right because technicly the new one is better and it probably will and as a gamer i only want to play the latest and greatest or wait for a pricedrop/saleOriginally Posted by WILLYUMZ
but waiting isn't posible because something new is out before any price changes really
I can see your problem :/ It's easier for me since I dropped the whole franchise after the MW3 fiasko and not just one game from my repertoire. I'm still fairly familiar with them, I still play them occasionally on my mates' systems but I do NOT wish to buy 'em.Originally Posted by sparkierjonesz
