    Screen Tearing

Ive never known what this is or what people are on about when they say this (especially when they say about it in a track and I dont notice anything at all), so...well, what is screen tearing, or am I being a bit thick here?

It's when the game laggs or freezes momentarily. If you play Way of the Ninja in a multiplayer you'll see an example in the first 30 seconds usually. It doesn't happen very often, only on a couple tracks.

No its not, thats lag. Tearing is when it looks as if someone has stretched clingfilm across the screen creating an almost "wavy-line-interference" style effect thats very distracting and annoying.

    Re: Screen Tearing

when fast movement is on the screen, sometimes the screen "splits" in two screens (horizontal). ; ) but the reason can be the game or a cheap tv.

Tearing and lag go hand in hand. You've probably experienced it and tire glitches. You just don't have anyone to show you exactly heh.

Thin black Lines running across the screen due to excess foliage or reflective surfaces is what I always thought it was,
It can sometimes be very prevalant in 4player supercross when too much deco added to four bikes on screen just cant push out the graphic smoothly... and then comes the lag where it just feels like the bike is trying to plough through a couple of feet of mud and screen starts to quiver, deco overload and physics joints main causes for this?

can be a multitude of things .lots of grouped or glued stuff can cause it . to much point lights . trees .lots of grass is a killer you name it it causes it. deco only on as much as poss and ungroup as much as u can in the area affected .i had a track were some natural light was coming through a door and in lagged like crazy untill by mistake i placed an object over the area . real "trial" and error stuff.x
