Game just up and closes down for no reason whilst editing | Forums

OK this is getting extremely annoying now. Second time today... I'm editing and then all of a sudden the game just shuts down. Any help with this? Because nothing is more infuriating than losing a bunch of work for no reason at all.

Are you able to pull up any kind of crash log of the event? Such as DxDiag or whatever

I've had editor close the game a few times before, usually seemed to have something in common with selecting a large group of multiple objects by click and drag the area select cursor with the mouse, can't really reproduce it but I tend to save very often in multiple save files.

I use shift to add objects to group more often then area selecting unless it's very large groups.

Yeah I can't remember what made it happen the first time but the second was when I was selecting/deselecting objects in a group or that were glued together. Maybe it is something to do with that?

I don't know much about crash reports but I'll try and get one for next time if it happens again. Been smooth sailing since the last time, although it disconnects itself from the internet quite a bit.

Happened to me about 3 times today and about 10 overall over the last week or so. Its just ridiculous.. why should that ever happen? There's only so many times I can lose chunks of my work before I just give up altogether. Having to save every 10 seconds is not really an adequate solution.

yup....i got it many times, the game just shutdown by itself during editor.
But i just think this way......welcome to trials PC

Hey Danners, sorry about overlooking this topic. Are there any specific/reproducible things that cause the game to crash for you?

I don't think so to be honest. Its weird it just seems to happen out of nowhere and for no reason. I'll be editing, then go 'Test Track', screen goes black and a moment later I'm back at myd desktop. Perhaps the only thing I could think is that if I'm changing stuff really quickly.. like moving a box a tiny bit, quickly test track, go back out, move it again, test track etc. I know that's not very helpful but I thought maybe its something you'd heard about before.
