Will Fusion use the "Snowdrop" engine?

I know Ubisoft is using this for "The Division", so if anyone at Redlynx knows...please share.

I would rather keep the graphics and increase the performance limit.
I don't know why people bother having 2.5D graphics when they are much better than donkey kong graphics. Don't know why people want more powerful graphics than gameplay, just like more PS4 (more powerful) than XB1 (better games) that way.

You know what? Unreal Engine 4 could even be better with graphics & performance, but I think that's not worth the budget for Mass Effect+ graphics.

Last I heard Xbox 1 and ps4 were identical in terms of performance, except ps4 had a bigger ram...I think....have you heard differently?

I partly agree with Blaster. Depending on how much power the Xbox One really has, more complexity works....rather than increasing fidelity and other effects, but allowing the same a pint of objects, etc.

The PS4 has 50% more graphics shaders...ddr5 ram, instead of ddr3, but doesn't embed 40mb of edram. For cross platform games, I'm guessing the detail will be barely visible. For proprietary games, you will probably see some difference.
Unlike the last gen, both next gen consoles have PC architecture, lessening the learning curve for programming.

Re: Will Fusion use the "Snowdrop" engine?

i'm pretty sure redlynx will just used their own engine like they did before

blaster why did you have to bring in xbox vs ps4?

besides most games will be multiplatform so gameplay will be the same on both systems
who has the best exclusives, only time will tell
what is the most powerfull system looks like ps4 but the ddr3 might be better for some games that really need low latency
what system will be better on release, we don't know yet
what system will grow the most preformance wise, we don't know

so can we please stop this console war discussion and remain on topic?

Re: Will Fusion use the "Snowdrop" engine?

Graphics improvements i'd like to see (over evo gold PC).

Smoother Shadows (also at lower settings)
Less flickering shadows (tends to happen at odd times often with tree shadows)
More range on lights (even if its background, doesn't have to have dynamic shadows at long range)
More forgiveness on interacting lights, less light blocks.
    Custom object Textures.
Different ways to color objects ( Ideally recoloring for pretty much each object, also actual white color, not white=default, with a default color button as extra )
More object shapes all-around for complexer shapes like arches and such , scaleable, so you don't have to put like 20 objects inside eachother.
Of course more forgiveness on complexity would also help, especially on curved drivelines it can cause issues if you use big structures.

Maybe a different way to rendering objects that are partially behind others in the background so it doesn't have to load it all ( decoration mode being actual decoration, also far outside a physics bubble to have less impact )

It doesn't have to have crazy insane realistic graphics, just something thats more optimized for all the platforms.

More on Topic for snowdrop engine: Looks nice especially with the backgrounds and clouds, but I think considering the Editor, that Fusion will have it's own custom engine.

    please
seems I can never have sun longitude and angle where I want it because the shadow flickering drives me crazy.

Graphics *****s, and there are far too many of them unfortunately.

just like more PS4 (more powerful) than XB1 (better games) that way.
XB1 had a terrible launch line-up, not one game made it over a 70% rating on Metacritic. Not that I am a proud supporter of metacritic but if even the gaming press widely agrees they are bad games then they must be abysmal in quality and design by my standards.

Chances are high Trials Fusion will be on the same engine as always, just vastly modified. No need for rash, costly engine jumps. Besides, Trials engine is in-house, their baby. It just needs refinements and expansions, give it time to grow
