    Half Life 3 actually confirmed

Let's not get into a battle over what "actually confirmed" really means.

One of many links you could probably find on the internet.

EDIT** added link here for the original find.

Re: Half Life 3 actually confirmed

    From the article you linked:

Now, for the usual caveats: companies file for trademarks for many reasons, sometimes just to make sure they have control of an IP for any future plans. So, this doesn't necessarily mean that Half-Life 3 is coming. Still, let's just agree to be happy for now. Valve knows that there's a vocal audience out there that wants Half-Life 3; I hope this means they are listening.

They already own the rights to the Half Life name. We all know it's going to happen. This is just one of the many steps a company has to take to make it happen.

It had better be the best FPS game ever to live up to 9 years worth of waiting and hype.

^^^ I can almost guarantee it won't come close to living up to the hype.

Every disappointment is preceded by an expectation.

Re: Half Life 3 actually confirmed

It's most likely Valve just registering the trademark to protect their IP. However, Microsoft re-registered the trademark for Killer Instinct in the Fall of 2012. People thought the same thing there. I certainly did as I had just about given up hope of ever seeing a new KI game.

But yeah, if HL3 ever does see the light of day, it will have a LOT to live up to. It'll be incredibly tough to match the hype with Bungie's Destiny right around the corner...

    Another piece of information emerges.

Still, take it with a grain of salt or something.

Come on Duke Nukem lived up to it's 12 years of hype?
