    Re: Steambox! No pics

I think it should be revealed tomorrow, right? Would be such a great TV PC, with a smaller size.

    Re: Steambox! No pics

I saw the post yesterday / day before about SteamOS which i'm really looking forward to, well, assuming it means I can ditch bloatware7 [I mean windows 7] without having to even touch cackOS8 - my average hatred for MS has shot up over the last 12 months, and I find myself unable / unwilling to buy anything else with their name on it

If the steam OS can use the directX libraries, then it's all good, and I can wave goodbye to these horrid systems of multi-purposeful-ness, and get my PC back to being what it is supposed to be, a gaming machine

If however, it is only the OS for the new console, I will have to either ignore it, or wait until I need an upgrade on to play new games, then buy a steambox, keeping this steaming pile of hotspur on my machine. either way i'll probably get the SB at some point, I have no interest at all in the advert media centre [sorry, I mean crossbone, er, xboxone - fecking stupid name] and am only going to get a PS4 when gran turismo 7 comes out [2 or so years away]

What it sounds like is that SteamOS will play Linux based Steam games off of PCs it is installed on, and MacOS/Win based games over the network. I take that as meaning that you will most likely still need to have Windows in your life for the future.

noooooooooooooo, well I guess i'll try and set up a dual boot system when it comes out - need to start saving to build a new gaming system, and use what is left of this one as a media server
