    Re: Battlefield 4 open beta

Various stores are offering ways to upgrade from current to next gen cheaper if you upgrade your console and want to play BF4 early and later on.

    http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...upgrade-later/

I guess the 30 fps is only for current consoles and those really can't be compared to a current-day pc

ANY game that severely sacrifices gameplay in favour of better dynamic lighting and draw distance should be ridiculed and shunned by the gaming community imo - certainly not embraced and celebrated for its graphical prowess over a game that runs at twice the framerate, its a bad joke and I'll leave it there before I write an essay on it.

Where's that ratbastard apdenton when he might actually agree with me?
I was just reading, and yes, surprisingly agreeing....but "ratbastard"? More Willy-bait eh?

Been busy, planning to make my/our own game....things have not started off well

Anyway, played the beta. Not noticing much new, though I am not a Battlefield vet so I don't have an eye for the smaller details. I'm pretty sure the contextual leaning is new, and there is a greater level of interactivity which is cool. Knife mechanics are better. Very buggy beta though, clunky as usual too, though feels a but smoother. Still cannot cook grenades also. I think I'll pass. Went 30-15 on the map with the elevator, no vehicles game mode, not bad for a noob-ish BF player. It's fun, but I like my theatre mode, specialist, Killcam, faster pace, quickscoping & throwing knife too much. I do like that the aim assist is less intense than in COD though. ******g aim assist, it ruins the games.

Quickscoping is possible in BF though just the aim down sights speed is slow and there is no aim assist for snipers. Oh and less damage, only headshot is OSK unless the enemy is already damaged.

Hugely disappointed with this beta. The gameplay has really put me off getting BF4 and I was really looking forward to it. But it just feels like a poor CoD, or BF3 expansion pack.

Still, on the upside, maybe my dream comes true and Titanfall and Killzone grab a decent share of the fps market and shake things up a bit, creating some innovation for the first time since MW was released!

Didn't DiCE said that the current-gen version would be released AFTER next-gen? Or do I need to report the misleading article I read?

Current gen out 1st Nov.. (UK)
I think there is a lot of titles also on next gen coming out a couple of weeks earlier, probably hoping to catch the crowd that can't wait.

Its cool, not as pretty as BF3... But seems to play a little more like BFBC2.. Which for me is awesome as BC2 is my favourite shooter of this Gen
f we can get the Vietnam pack rereleased on BF4 I'd be a happy bunny)

Saying that, I've only had about 3 hours play so far, not even every map
