and I think if you did a venn diagram of features, most of the stuff in the middle is done far better on cod - at least to my tastes.
and it also seems, with every year, more and more of cods circle gets pulled into that joint area.

id agree vehicles and bigger maps are a selling-point for people that like them - scorestreaks and quick-scoping being overpowered are up for debate.
ive never felt any disadvantage against someone trying to snipe me without aiming and there are modes without scorestreaks given should you want them, although Id say there arent many that are "overpowered" if you know what youre doing.
and I think the teamwork point, which comes up a lot, is grossly unfair - youll find that plenty of people playing BF are running around alone, doing what they want, and that the better segment of cod players are incredibly team-focused.
I played MW3 with the highest ranked hc dom players in the world and I assure you the game is more than capable of playing host to serious teamwork.

I dont know, I just feel let down again but I guess its my fault for expecting too much. I always see the next BF game on the horizon and it always looks impressive and even though I want to like it, its always too clunky and never looks that good or controls well enough to me
mammoth post im not even that bothered

My favourite battle field is probably bad company 2 and probably the Vietnam dlc being the stand out from that version

Before playing that I was a bit of a COD fan boy

Once btheyefield clicked, once I got it... I never bothered going back to to COD

Its a much more of an experience as opposed to just who racks up the most kills

4 looks awful from the beta, but I'm also suspecting no HD texture download was included for the beta

Speaking of looks...is it the 30fps that bothers you? The reason I ask is that BF is clearly a lot prettier than CoD in multiplayer and in terms of visuals the only thing it really has on BF is the 60fps (which admittedly is a big deal). This beta is also minus the hd textures, which makes it look pretty bad. I can tell it's going to look really nice with hd textures installed when it's out - not that it matters to me, because I'm getting this on next gen anyway.

My main concern though is how EA are going to treat multiplayer. Is it going to be the same game we paid for in 1-2 years time or is there going to be some major changes we have no say in? Rent a server was a disaster for bf3 imho and the performance of that game online has deteriorated noticeably over the course of this year to the point where i cant stand it anymore. They don't exactly have a great track record....this isn't the only online game they've butchered. As much as i'm looking forward to bf4 i don't trust them.

ANY game that severely sacrifices gameplay in favour of better dynamic lighting and draw distance should be ridiculed and shunned by the gaming community imo - certainly not embraced and celebrated for its graphical prowess over a game that runs at twice the framerate, its a bad joke and I'll leave it there before I write an essay on it.

Where's that ratbastard apdenton when he might actually agree with me?

Took an elevator to the top of a building, jumped off, parachuted down. That's all the fun I had in military shooter #400000000000000000.

Back to arranging colors in Clash of Heroes.

Hahaha I hear you. And wonder what's happened to our resident gaming police man? Surely he should have issued me a ticket by now

    Re: Battlefield 4 open beta

After seeing a bunch of alpha Paracel Storm vids, the potential of this game just went up a whole lot, and then there's 8 other maps + 5 expansions with usually 4 maps each to come.

Scout Helicopters got a whole lot more powerful by making the cockpits bulletproof, and adding 25 mm rounds.

As far as beta, it's only a fraction of unlocks/weapons we get to see right now. But at least a crazy thing like RPG + Stinger at the same time isn't possible, even with the gadget system.

I love the new Stinger/guided shell lock-on, far cooler visually and less annoying sounds, can't wait to try some of the "keep on target to track" weapons ( I think boats get em as unlock for AA missiles )

i haven't played a battlefield since i was still on ps2 but maybe you should look at it this way
they made bigger maps for better vehicul gameplay requiring big draw distance sacrificing 60fps for 30 for better gameplay
