How do you feel about the Trials World Championship System?

This is a poll asking: How do you, the members of the Trials community (Xbox and PC), feel about the way that the scoring system has been handled? This thread is for mature discussion, so try to keep it civil. This is in no way an attempt to get Redlynx to switch the rules of the Championship. I'm grateful to be given the chance, and any others who are eligible should be as well.

With that said; How do you feel about it? Do you think that it is right that PC users who may have a lower score get to qualify simply because the game has less competition? Or do you feel like the players with the highest scores across both platforms deserve to qualify?

Also, how do you feel about Xbox players switching to PC to increase their chances of qualifying? Should it not be allowed, or does it balance the system by increasing competition?

    Don't forget to vote!

    Those are some good questions.

Don't know anything about the scoring system and it's differences so can't comment.

I don't think there is an issue with system switching. If you end up being in the top four on that platform, then you were among the best on that platform regardless of where you stand overall.

As far as PC players competing, the PC version needs a boost so what better way to do it? Only problem I have with this is that the PC version is such a bad port, that it doesn't deserve promotion until it's fundamentally fixed. This however is probably not worth it unless it gains in popularity and people want to really get into Trials and e-sports...catch 22 I guess

The problem about PC version could be that scores of people can be flawed down, which happened many times on people, also can happen by the participants.

EDIT: But, the worst thing on PC is that it lags heavily.

Being a PC only player (my last TV console at home was a nintendo 64 and it wasn't even mine ) I might have a different view on things.

The fact PC doesn't have as much competition as xbox, can have a few major factors :
-The gane only came out 6 months ago, with what I think a lot of new players like myself
-The majority likely doesn't use controllers and mainly plays for fun. ( I got a controller just for this game, and still play leaderboard at my own pace but I'm like #300)
-The game's launch has had quite a few issues with lag and graphics on many different machines and setups (while said my game runs fine the last months it's far from everyone having issues)
-The best 6 times from each track get to go to the semi-final imo , if eligible with age/country rules, if they are frequent PC players and not just here to be greedy, see question #2.

#2 Also, how do you feel about Xbox players switching to PC to increase their chances of qualifying? Should it not be allowed, or does it balance the system by increasing competition?

I feel it's greedy if it's someone who gets trials gold just because of this announcement, I see it different for players who switched from xbox months ago and only play PC a lot, those should be allowed.

If your truly good at Trials Xbox you don't need the pc as a backup plan to be a true winner, at all fronts, even supercross!

Even if I were Eligible ( country restriction, which is fine by me, so be it in the rules ) I don't think I had a chance on top 6, I started playing in April, and I spend far more time in the Editor then on Tracks. I'm like #300 on PC (3 plat 2 gold), slowly getting better.

All that said, as this is basicly a Test tournament for future events, If there ever will be a Fusion Tournament, one of the rules should just be 1 entry per person on the platform of choice as it's a simultaneous launch I believe.

    To the PC guys:

If you're truly good at Trials PC, you shouldn't be so terrified of the Xbox guys coming over and beating you.
And if they do come over and beat you, then you weren't worthy of representing your PC community in the first place at a World Championship... And a limited "World" at that.

    Nicely worded post.

Now I am going to say up front that I am strongly against the scoring being separate.

I understand every reason you listed as to why the PC community is at a disadvantage, but does that mean that they deserve a handicap? Age and country restrictions aside, the championship is about finding the world's best player. How is it fair that a more skilled Xbox player will be disqualified over a less skilled PC player?

Those players who have just switched-over are at the same advantage as any player who has had Trials experience previous to Gold. I believe the term "representing" is being looked into too much.

I agree with that statement, but I also believe the switch-over prevents less deserving players from qualifying.

Re: How do you feel about the Trials World Championship Syst

I just hope that I don't miss out on the top 6 by .0xx, because I know for a fact that the times on PC won't be as fast as my current run (33.3xx).

If I'm ranked 7 on Xbox with a time of 33.3xx and don't get through, how is this correct if rank 1 on PC got say 33.7xx. Surely If this is a competition for the 'best' trials player, the 'best' would go through...

I'm not moaning but how is that right?

Thats pretty much the point I made in one of the other threads - People seem to be caught up on the idea of 2 completely separate groups of players, instead of the free-for-all that is solo competitive gaming, I don't understand why but there it is.

As far as I am concerned, it would be a shame and a waste for the finals to not include players that have the talent to be there, regardless of what they used to qualify.

People have that idea because this is how the championship is set up at the moment.

It's like sports, people qualify in their country and the best of those have to compete against the best from other country's. It's not like they say "hey, your best was 5 sec longer then most of the other people from other country's, so you can't come to the finals, even if you are the best of your country"
And if you would stand by your statement, then why even bother with a championship? Just give prizes immediatly to the best skilled players then (like top 6 players on the global lb)

This discussion is only here because most of you guys are being egoistic, I can't see any other reason why people are still raging about it. RL made the rules. and they won't be changing it for this championship, so the only thing you can do is give healthy input, so they can improve the championship in the future, not hating on people who don't agree with you. Life isn't fair, accept it and deal with it.

And if xbox players want to come to the pc to qualify, just know you will be frowned upon by alot of people. If you don't care being seen as a ******bag for your future trials career then go ahead and show us your true self.
