No idea, but that articles makes it seem like you'll have two hours playtime free. So lunch break, to work/school, home from work/school then on to Fusion. And you'll be playing for free on Frontier.

whats the use of no fee if you can't play the game
people just wanna pay once and be done with it
Actually YOU want to pay once and be done with it. But you dont speak for everyone. A lot of people like F2P as evidenced by the success of F2P.
for who is f2p popular, casuals
and a few good models like in lol that are for actual gamers
i personally don't mind f2p and see the benifits but there is alot that can be bad very bad

the only way that this way frontier is doing it can be not bad is like it would be more like a demo but with a f2p tag

you really think evo would have benifited if it was f2p like that, like lets say it even allows you to play 2h for free a day?
imo i would have killed all competivness

Evo isnt a mobile game and as such designed for short bursts of play by casual gamers. Its a more in depth game designed for more prolonged use on a home console. Two different markets.

You will not lose anything by giving it a shot, it's free to play. If you like the way it works, then awesome, if not... you still haven't lost anything except a few minutes of your time.

you can lose the opportunity to enjoy a great game because you don't like the business model

You cant say that to US about Trials. We ALL have an unhealthy attachment to the game. I never cared about the freemium games because I was always simply able to play something else. Now though, now Trials is affected and it is depressing.

Why cant I just give you guys ten bucks and then have unlimited access to everything? Why complicate things? I want to give you guys my money, but not a hundred dollars 50 cents at a time...

I totally get the hatred of f2p. Its most often a greedy move. But in this case, while clearly not the best way to do it, I can see that it may get you to put down your mobile for a little bit. And in an age where most people pay more attention to their screen than the person right in front of them, that's not a bad thing.

Can't we have options to have the premium frontier game for a few bucks so we can play this game unlimited? You know most guys in the RedLynx forums are top riders, and they want to be high ranked in frontier while they are not at home. Like Connz Yo or High Deff plays more than 3 hours average a day (if you calculate their total playtime into the on Evo). It would also blow away excitement and competition from people

I just want to make clear the reason I am so disappointed in the way Frontier will be monetised.
What RedLynx are plainly doing is exploiting the hook of Trials' gameplay for assumed monetary gain.
Imagine running a track a few times, starting to get the memory down for a tricky section and you know you've got it in you to beat it in a couple more runs and.... Bang, out of fuel, money please or wait til we say so. By that time you need to warm up again before you get back in the zone.
People will pay to stay in that zone. RedLynx and Ubi know it. And it's as bad as drawing people into online gambling in my opinion.
Trials is an extremely addictive game and using that addiction in this way is wrong.

By no means do I think this is the only game that uses this despicable business model. I just hoped it would be one that didn't.
