Depends if its down for 48hrs or not. Plus there's always highest rated of the week.

True but it does still ruin people's hard work, a perfect example of this is D2Dahaka's track.
I had to search for this track by the creators name rather than seeing it in the 48hr feeds etc which means his track ( sorry just using that track as an example ) has less people playing it and voting for it as a result.
I'm not having a go at red lynx in any way, I just wanted to know if there were a way around this problem which is I'm sure on every creators mind every time they upload a track they have invested time into.
Thank you for your reply Barry

In fairness, it doesnt ruin anything, it just reduces the number of "random" downloads. It actually makes it more likely that his track will make highest rated this week as it will only have been played by people who wanted to play it and searched it out, therefore its more likely to have a high average rating.

You are speaking about the track as if it will get voted down by randoms....also, you are assuming people have heard of it..if they haven't, how could they search for it or the creator..you are saying people on the forum and a few friends will be enough to boost a track to highest rated of the week? I really hope that isn't the case because if it is then whoever is most popular on the forum will have their track in 1st place.

Thats a drastic example, of course. But all you need to do is see a ninja track on highest rated of the week with 20 downloads to see how it could happen that way.

Re: Voting system down, can it be predicted?

I would also like to say, in the days when I cared about my times left on a leader board....this does affect it. I would not invest my time into a leader board that I have any doubt will show my run. It's rare but I have had times that haven't been recorded. The track is affected in more ways than one. I would not speedrun a track when the voting system is down unless it were a friends track therefore any track I haven't heard of gets put out of business. I wouldn't chance a time not being counted again.
If I am being unreasonable then by all means let me know....

Not unreasonable at all mate. Why invest time into something that wont count? Makes sense
