Supercross lanes - exact object positioning

Just incase im being thick, is there an easier way to put the same objects/obsatacles in each lane of the track than trying to move them really carefully in each lane to hopefully make sure they measure up exactly the same. I copy the obstacles from the first lane, but am never sure they are 100% level with the others.

yep..snap tool.. use the snap tool..the only thing with this is you will have to do it with every obstacle you use due to the different sizes of objects..you could give it a go though..If you did it this way,, your track would look very neat indeed.. i think alot of the ramps are very similar in width though, so it might work out..i would think it depends on your lane width..

    Re: Supercross lanes

its in the editor settings, in the menu where you go to load, save, etc...Its near the bottom of the menu settings.

if you havnt used it before, its hard to explain..there is an editor tutorial on Jarrs' youtube channel, but also there might be one in the forums Tutorials page..

I am so useless, I click on the object to snap, but it does nothing (with me in control of it that is), what snap do I choose (x,y or z). Also it sometimes freezes when i select the object.

Re: Supercross lanes - exact object positioning

Best way is to either have XYZ all marked, then check the lock to driveline box..when you place something down in 1st lane, copy it,put the centre of it over 2nd lane, then right stick click...
Then do the same, copy the 2 objects just placed, move across, rick stick to lock to drive line..this is easier than using than snap grid..
Make sure you lock to driving line..
If this doesnt work, then uncheck the XYZ..its one or the other..

But this is defos the quickest and easiest way to do it in a uniformed manner.

Re: Supercross lanes - exact object positioning

As Morfy said, first uncheck "Snap X, Y, Z" in the editor settings, so when you click right stick, it snaps onto the nearest driving line. When you're happy with that, check "Snap X, Y, Z", and select the snap plane the object, and be sure the snap distance is the same length as the driving line spacing. Then you can copy the object and double click right stick

You can also make it easier by placing the driving lines exactly so that is being straight onto X or Y direction, also that it is on the grid line, then you can easily snap the object on every drive line with out unchecking "Snap X, Y Z".
