And? Where have PC games been specifically mentioned in this thread?Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
No, I have no further argument about the ins and outs of the game precisely for that reason. I could look more into it, but I've seen enough.I guess you'll want to argue that it isn't enough of a simulator (even though you haven't played it)
All computer games are computer programs.but Forza is a game not a computer program
This is good.It is also supposed to be highly realistic, hence the "simulation" word being thrown around and the option to turn all of the above off.
That's not what I do. I am anticipating some new games, and research into games more often than not. Admittedly I have jumped the gun before but that happens rarely and is an easy mistake to make. No jumping the gun todayIf you actually want an idea about how realistic it is, rather than to just auto-dismiss it like every other new game -
I meant it is merely a racing game, that's all it does, so I know it's not on Immersive Sim's level. So what exactly do you have to see in a racing game, before you immediately write it off as being "merely a racing game" before even playing it?
Talking utter rubbish.
Also, no car maintenence![]()

I mentioned that in anticipation for a "this PC game is what a REAL sim is like" argument. Just a precaution for a classic Denton move.Originally Posted by apdenton1
Indeed, but a computer program becomes a game when you "play" it, rather than use it. My point was, it is made to be enjoyable.. and not necessarily for Le Mans racing teams to test in their garage mid-race (although I have heard that the Audi and Peugeot teams have used Forza for practice.)Originally Posted by apdenton1
No one said it was on Immersive Sim's level - blastergamer called it a "simulator", which it is.Originally Posted by apdenton1
And you saw it as another fine opportunity to jump on a pretty, popular, mainstream, AAA title and show everyone what a cool, underground gaming guru you are - despite knowing nothing about the game.
Yep. Just like immersive Sims. Gameplay takes priority over simulation when it has to.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
No, Blaster gave an opinion that it was the "best Sim game", I responded with an equally weightless opinion and got jumped in response (because you are a Forza fanboy), though not actually so weightless due to my experience and observations (whereas Blaster has probably played two sim games in total most likely), but should not be taken seriously until I have played, of course. Also, underground? I say 95% of the games I've ever loved have been "mainstream". Mainstream games used to mean highest quality, rarely anymore though. It's not my fault some of you are ignorant of this.
Anyway, get back on topic, your hate for me is transparent, I can see the love and admiration you have for me through it :P
Wrong, never even played Forza 2 or 3, and only ever played the single player career on Forza 4 - haven't played it in a long time either - much prefer Horizon which is an arcade racer.Originally Posted by apdenton1
In fact the difference here is that I am the one who isn't biased, and obviously I'm the one who has actually had experience with the game.
I started on Playstation and played a ton of GT2, GT3 and GT4 - and at first I didn't like Forza 1 in comparison, but by the time I'd decided to go back to the franchise (F4) I realised it had long surpassed Gran Turismo, in my opinion, and even though I'm not all that interested in sim racers, I was very impressed by its gameplay, its size and its polish.

So by being a racing game it isnt the height of gaming? Thats just your opinion and shows your attitude towards racing games in general. If you don tlike them, why bother discussing them?Originally Posted by apdenton1

I play and enjoy racing games from time to time, they just rarely stray from trying to simulate racing and nothing more, and when they attempt to tell a story, lol, yeah.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
Racing is a simple task: Gears, clutch, Brakes, steering, accelerate, you never have more than that. It's impossible for a straight up racing game to be the height of gaming unless it tries to do more than racing, like Trials, which is great, above average in my opinion, better than your average vehicle-driving game but still can never reach the heights, not enough depth (gameplay or otherwise) or meaning.
Let's see if theychange my mind with Fusion. Not likely, but I bet it will be the heights of vehicle driving games (All in my opinion, since I need to state this all the time now apparently).
So far out regarding forza that its not even worth responding to you. You should stick to a subject you've done more research on, as you clearly have no idea how much depth there is to forza on many different levels.Originally Posted by apdenton1
Lol, OK.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
Sure. my opinion on what it is or not may lack some credibility, but I'll say it regardless: amazingly deep it is not. It's not hard to tell.
And before you respond with "depth is not that important" or something, yes it bloody well is and Trials HD to Trials Evolution is a great example that you can easily relate to.
