Assuming you're not being sarcastic; if you don't even know Forza well enough to ask that question in the first place - how can you immediately someone's opinion on the game?
Because it is merely a racing game. I know this much.

I'm wondering how many other games you are relatively clueless about but still immediately slam them with your elitist vocabulary regardless.
    1. I didn't slam the game, check yourself fool.
    2. I'm not clueless regarding Forza. Granted, I'm not clued up either, but I can make close judgement without having to even touch a game: years of gaming across many platforms and many genres (including many racing games: Burnout, V-rally, Colin Mcrae Rally, Need For Speed, Ridge Racer, PGR, Top Gear, Gran Turismo, Wipeout, Mario Kart, Crazy Taxi, Rollcage, SCARS, Dirt and so on. The reason I never mention them is because they are hardly memorable), heck, about the only racing series I have not touched is Forza? I probably have played one in the series at some point tbh. Furthermore I do look up games online. I know Forza is merely a racing game/Sim, good, realistic racing and car maintenence/tuning, nothing more. Tell me I am wrong. Besides, it's modern

I've looked into the game further now and it was good early judgement. Sure, hands-on time and even completing the game is required for ones opinion to be truly credible, but I have enough experience to say Forza is merely a raicing sim (made by M$ studios no less), whilst Immersive Sims, are, well, ******g mind blowing.

You can use manual and go into first person perspective at least, this is good. No car maintenece though, only tuning .

No offense apdenton, but you are full of crap

I'd be a lot more inclined to appreciate your opinion on a game, on any game, if you had actually played it. Instead you offer biased, uninformed negativity by default because YOU personally are becoming more and more disgruntled with gaming in general.

The only people more annoying that the naive sheep that jump on everything mainstream and everything familiar, are their polar-opposites; the people that assert themselves as know-it-alls, arrogantly and in your case, falsely.

I've looked into the game further now and it was good early judgement, the game is merely a racing sim and a rival to Gran Turismo. Yeah, nothing special.

No, you cannot, people don't have abilities to forsee happenings. You are now just being the wise man or the soothsayer.

I didn't saw you owning any single Forza game. Didn't you ever tried forza 3 or 4 demo? Also, demos have very limited amout of things to try, so, you can only judge it fully by full games. It is not just sim sim sim, or tuning or painting. It seems like you never understood the "community" and "fun" of games. That makes people staying on games. I know you would throw out "that's only for casual players blah blah blah" again, but you know this is console gaming, not PC. If trials never had a community and track central, this game would have been laid under soil after 2 months after launch.

So Forza isn't just another racing Sim then? I've been looking into it, I'm not seeing anything that hasn't been done before in the racing genre. Looks like it does far less, unfortunately. I probably will not even give it a chance, looks dull and simplistic except for the graphics.

Very true, however I've looked into it enough that it is not foresight but early yet experienced judgement.

Lol, every current game that is not DOA has a community I can troll That's not valid.
In all seriousness I visit other communities and have fun, though they are all of older games that are still thriving today.

Good, dont give it a chance. In fact, give NOTHING a chance, quit gaming and stop visiting forums as well. Then we'll all get a break from you.

I question your status as a moderator sometimes Barry.

Understandable. However we all watch gameplay vids and make early judgements. It's natural and should be encouraged unless you don't mind gambling with your money or supporting bad games/cookie-cutter. But those judgements better be good calls.

Firstly this is a thread discussing "next-gen launch titles"... aka console games. And when it comes to console racers, Forza is arguably the best sim available.
I guess you'll want to argue that it isn't enough of a simulator (even though you haven't played it) but whether a racer is classed as a sim or not is far from black and white.

I'm sure there are many more realistic options out there, but Forza is a game not a computer program - hence the option to play on automatic transmission, with a racing line, and ABS & TCS, with a rewind facility etc etc.
It is also supposed to be highly realistic, hence the "simulation" word being thrown around and the option to turn all of the above off.

If you actually want an idea about how realistic it is, rather than to just auto-dismiss it like every other new game - here is a write-up from someone comparing driving 4 real cars to driving their in-game counterparts. The final sentence reading: "But suffice to say, after driving real cars and their Forza counterparts, we found that the game nailed just about every aspect of real racing—minus the sore back."

So what exactly do you have to see in a racing game, before you immediately write it off as being "merely a racing game" before even playing it?
    Talking utter rubbish.
