Yes, we do have raw access logs that include IP addresses, but it's not a simple operation to distribute them between countries. I'll see if I can get something nice out of them that I can give you, when I have some time.

We have too much data. Could you be more specific on what statistics you want?
Obviously I can't give you everything, but something like the percentage of users coming from a list of countries is fine (imo). For this I would need the list of countries or even better, IP ranges.
Or maybe you can find me a tool that parses Apache log files and gives me the data in a static format. Something that is not AWStats, but can still run on a Linux terminal would be nice.

That's cool maybe austria could be displayed in that list if it is not too much hassle.

I haven't used it, but maybe Webalizer will do the trick: http://www.webalizer.org/

    According to their features list:
    * Fully supports IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Includes built-in distributed DNS lookup capability and native Geolocation services.

As for a list of countries... during the 2012 Olympics, Alvy started a thread (http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/viewt...p?f=71&t=11231) that generated a list of representative countries. That may be a good starting point, if you're still looking to trim down the list:
    1 USA 3036
    2 CANADA 2997
    3 TEAM GB 2972
    = FRANCE 2972
    5 AUSTRALIA 2966
    6 SWEDEN 2954
    7 NORWAY 2896
    8 AUSTRIA 2884
    9 GERMANY 2854
    10 INDIA 2626
    11 ITALY 1396
    12 FINLAND DNF

This would be interesting. While you are at it could you have a look at what keeps going wrong that stops some of us from being able to play Heroz

Sorry, I'm not the best person to do that. Does the issue still exist?

The statistics are going to take a while. I took access logs from the last 14 days and there were about 5 million hits and over 3 million unique IPs.
The country stats are not going to be good in any way as the GeoIP database seems to be missing about half of the IPs, but I'll let my script run anyway.

Thanks for the effort on this. That's crazy that there are over 3 million unique IPs in the last 14 days. Based on the 10-day high score list, there generally seems to be about 3400 active players these days. I can understand that people probably play in different locations (home, work, school, etc) and I'm not sure how phone carriers handle IPs when you're using cellular, but still seems crazy to have that many unique IPs. That means that on average, each player is connecting via ~1000 different IPs in a 14-day span. I know the TOS crew is crazy, but I can't imagine they are pulling up the average that much.

Yeah, that seems really odd, but the logs never lie.
This is actually going to take way more time than I expected. I've had the script running for 18 hours now and only about 200k entries have been processed.
