    Premier League 2013/14

The new season has started, there has got to be some football fans on here. Who is everyone's team, and what are your predictions for the season and be interesting to hear why you are a supporter of your club.
Also would you be interested before every weekend games to do predictions beforehand and see who is most accurate?

My team is Fulham, great win away from home already (us Fulham fans make sure we saviour those) against Sunderland. Didnt play too well, defended well, but nothing in midfield to link up with the attack, hopefully 2 center midfielders to come in, aswell as a left back and right back cover before the transfer window closes.

Anyway, I am a Fulham supporter cause my Dad brought me and my brother up taking us to games at the lovely Craven Cottage (back when it was terraced stands) and it has been an obsession since, keeping it in the family through the ups and downs. Supporting Fulham probably has made me age quicker but it is fully worth it especially during our Europa League run alone, some of the best games I have watched, especially beating Juventus, I could go on and on but I may bore a lot of you.

Predictions I think is smarter to wait when the transfer window closes so you get a better idea on the full squads of each team so can get a better judgement on who the top 4 and who to be relegated etc.

    Re: Premier League 2013/14

Right now, I see Chelsea taking the title. Although I really hope I'm wrong and United can pull off another minor miracle like last year, but I cant see it right now. But like you say, the next two weeks may change it all!

As for Fulham, there's been some strange transfer business done there the last 18 months and the shortages in your midfield seem to have caught you up. Too many old players nad loan signings in recent times mean you are very short and need to spend in that area. How much you have, who is available and wether you will have to pay over the odds this late in the window could well be the deciding factor in how your season goes.

Much the same applies to Arsenal. If they dont make good signings soon (and there may not be anyone left available) then I dont see Wenger starting next season at the club, as I suspect they will drop below Spurs and maybe Liverpool and miss the champions league.

If Newcastles team gel and they can get another striker (whatever happened to them buying Bafetimbi Gomis?) then I wouldnt be at all surprised to see them cement a top 7 spot, maybe even pushing into 6th at the expense of Arsenal. They may be a French team now, but they're a very strong looking French team!

Hull and Palace will go straight back down, but other than that points will be very hard to pick up. This is why I think there is a top 3 (Manchester City, Utd and Arsenal), Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal following them and then 12 other teams with Newcastle likely to lead the pack. Thats going to make it very tough for everyone outside the top 3 to get any advantage over rivals imo. Which could really highlight squad weaknesses and is why I worry for Arsenal, who have a very weak squad. Although Liverpool and Spurs are in a similar position to some extent, I feel like they arent expected to be a top four team and so are under less pressure.

First managerial sacking will be another subject that could be interesting to debate! No signings and a poor start and I guarantee the rumours will start about Wenger, but I dont actually see him being sacked mid-season. My money is on Di Canio.

I support West Brom (was born there) who got off to a cracking start with Mulumbu earning man of the match, then 1min later giving away a penalty in the dying minutes
We finished 8th last season but I cant see us bettering that, interested to see how Anelka does though.

As for the top I think Liverpool will continue to disappoint everyone, Arsenal will lose out on a champs league spot to Spurs, Chelsea will beat City but not United, who I think will take the title again, fergie or no fergie - hopefully it stays up for grabs for longer than it did last season though, its no fun when a team wins by 11points.

The reason we are loaning is because we are waiting on some of our talented youth players in our academy to progress, hopefully Chris David will make the step up this year in CM, also Kasami started yesterday and is a big lad with a great left foot on him. That said we still need someone in right now cause Steve Sidwell as much as he tries and works hard is technically not good at all. Im wanting us to sign Clement Chantome.
    Who is your team Barrybarfly?

United. There is only one, so I dont need to say more!

I'm really hoping we strengthen because I have no idea how our squad won the league last year, let alone so easily. Its young and has a bright future, but also has some glaring weaknesses in its depth. If Carrick gets injured we're screwed.

    Re: Premier League 2013/14

I can see Chelsea winning, Man Utd second, Man City third and Tottenham fourth.

Arsenal were very poor when I watched the match yesterday, so I don't expect them to get a Champions League spot at all. But I'm routing for West Brom in the first season I'm actually going to follow.
