You don't need to complain about it everywhere you know
There are more reasons than that to hate the kinect...Originally Posted by HaydnM
1. One more complicated thing to break. If the kinect sensor breaks, the whole xbone system is worthless till the camera is fixed/replaced.
2. It drives up the cost. The extra 100 bucks over Sony make a huge difference for me. Since Trials is on both systems next time, I will go with the cheaper system. I wont pay 100 more for a feature I wish I could unplug.
3. Developers will feel obligated to shoe-horn lame motion controls into their games. Watch, wait and see. Most games will have a really lame thing like doing a full arm throwing motion to throw a grenade, it will take you completely out of the experience. The complete Wii library has taught me better. Same thing happens with a lot of Vita games as well, stupid touch screen BS gets thrown into almost every game and they would ALL better off without it.
Of course I am just speculating though....
I will wait till it all plays out, but I have almost no faith in Microsoft at this point. I have a feeling that in a year or two the only exclusives will once again come down to the yearly iterations of Halo and Gears. Sony has a much better track record for taking risks with more creative games and simply putting more effort into their first party efforts.

I thought of ONE thing kinect could make more interesting; witches in Left 4 Dead. imagine having to actually keep quiet. Whispering to friends. Trying to tell anyone in the background to stop making noise. Would be pretty tense. But, its still not at all worth the price of kinect.
And even if the X1 came with a decent stereo headset, most 'serious gamers' would end up buying turtle beaches or trittons or any number of other brands anyway. No point in m$ spending more money on something you'd replace anyway. Besides, we've not used the headset, so we don't know how bad or good it is.
I have 3 kids, a loud wife, 2 dogs, a cat, 2 guinea pigs, and a bunny in my house. that being quite feature would not work at my place... ever.Originally Posted by MrGiggles

Last night we went to a friends house and my kids were playing a kinect game with my friends kids. it was like a party game with movie themes.. forget the name of it. The kids were having fun.
But then they got to a game where they were like king kong destroying a city, hitting the helicopters out of the sky and whatknot. My daughter gave my friends kid a big bloody nose trying to hit that copter. Its actually quite common, youtube it.

Crazy people are so concerned with MS using the Kinect's camera for spying, that they are overlooking a MUCH more threatening issue. People using the Kinect's mic on Xbox LIVE!
If you use the Kinect's built-in mic, instead of buying a mic to plug into your controller... you are a bad person. FACT!
