    Xbox One Unboxing

    http://www.joystiq.com/2013/08/08/xb...-unboxing-vid/

Now comes with a headset - it's a ****ty headset, but a headset none the less. It's also been confirmed that ALL online features including chat and free to play games require gold.

In contrast Sony allows party chat, video uploading, video streaming services, free to play games and other services without the need for PS+.

Seems M$ have to screw something up majorly before doing a 180 on everything.

Honestly don't care about the whole need gold to have to party chat and use Netflix etc.

Over the 6 years I have had XBL, I have only been silver for 2 days when changing cards, so I don't see it as a big deal. The headset included at least makes it less overpriced I guess.

Haha I've been saying since the first reveal that it'd have an invisible power button. All these terrified 'Kinect is the only way to turn it on' comments had me pissing myself

Now if they'd just get rid of kinect...

I'd like if they (more likely a 3rd party) made a cheap ($20 or less) USB 2.4Ghz (or bluetooth) dongle so I can use my less-than-year-old wireless 360 headset.

For a console that does more than gaming, it's pretty lame that you have to pay them for those extra features even if you don't want (or need) access to online multiplayer. Especially since many of those features require their own subscription.

The headset looks pretty cool, and I like the 'Mute' and 'Volume +/-' buttons, so I don't need to change it in the online chat settings.
Why do you think the headset is ****ty? Is that just because you don't like Xbox One? Actually, PS4 has a much cheaper one, and it's an EARPIECE instead a headphone, and it will get greasy from people's ear flax and the mic won't be stable because it it attached on the cable and it will wobble when your head is moved.

About the XBL Gold Membership, when you always subscribe it, where should be a problem if the online features need gold or not? There is advanced multiplayer matchmaking, 20x more servers and even UNLIMITED cloud storage, as MS confirmed. The subscription is still 60$ as before, but now you get more offers than before!
