    Physics joint point to point, then lined up the pivot point to the joint. That sounded like a bad rap line.

    the hinge needs to be enabled the whole time and physics needs to be enabled on the dummy object. If set up properly the hinge and dummy object should reset relative to the rider at any checkpoint.

    edit/note: using the teleporter when objects are attached to the rider with physics joints will most likely not work out too well so I'd avoid trying that.
