I've recently been using the editor to recreate songs in 8-bit style. I don't think they would be removed from TC, but would Redlynx be unable to showcase any tracks that feature this music?
I would say its touch and go. Certain tracks cant be featured because they resemble/imitate/copy/etc certain things. Such as Halo, Sonic, Mario, NES, etc. Others sometimes sneak through because they are just different enough to get away with it. I know thats no solid answer, but I'm only a mod, so really someone from RL is far better placed to answer this. Just giving you what info I can tbh. :S
What an awesome question that I don't have an answer for. Let me see what I can come up with.
PS: Won't be today.
Nope they won't use if that sounds from another game or if you name your track after a game or w/e or if you use stuff from a game in your track! They look for stuff thats all new really but you can use there stuff i would think!I seen a video before about something like this cause they feel thats all copyright!
should be ok . your only recreating it and your not making money . if you sell a million then worry.bit like sampling if you make a hit and haven't cleared it prior .
Yeah what kid said lol i put that wrong my bad!
Thanks for the quick responses!
Wasn't that Sonic-inspired track featured not long after Evo came out? That had the music in it too.
If you wanna be super careful though then it should be fine to do an obvious imitation that isn't a direct note-for-note copy (think of the T2 reference at the end of The Forge.)
Certain tracks WERE featured (Terminator anyone?), but then copyright issues were discovered and that put an end to it.Originally Posted by DannersMac
Was Paperboy ever featured? Because it's like everyone thought to create it at the same time and at least 5 variants came out at once!
