This isn't an argument, this is a discussion about the spirit of the community.

While it is great that you guys decided to work together on a track, and the track is good, it is one track. That one track shouldn't mean any more to anyone community-wise than does any of the other 600,000+ creations that have been uploaded.

Is it better than some tracks? Most certainly, but the fact that you guys do have the talent and would rather keep that knowledge to yourself is, to me, a bit of a selfish decision.

I don't think I am in the minority when I say that I would rather the forums were a source of information and not people coveting what they find instead of continuing to innovate. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice track, but there are quite a few nice tracks on Track Central, and ALL of them are being given away.
I usually find your posts to be PR responses meant to calm the community down, so it's nice to see a strongly opinionated post like this from you. And I completely agree with you.

I could hold my tongue when I get those random requests for help on a track/obstacle, but I don't; because I know how frustrating it is to learn certain techniques on your own.

Most people want to be selfish like Murdoc, because the thought of fair competition must intimidate them.

I had fun playing this track, played over 2 hours yesterday.
    Good track.

Replying to xzample here: it would be sad if it was about competition, why does everyone needs to be better then the other guy. This is not racing.
