Not sure if serious. Also there already was a ****ty chocobo racing game for PS1, as well as some other ****ty chocobo spin offs.

Why would you want a ****ty spin-off when it's already in the game, with more meaning & purpose.

you're misunderstanding me. I don't want a ****ty spin off with the gameplay like it is in 7. When I said it begs for a spin off, I meant the concepts. The ideas would definitely need work to be fulfilling as a standalone game.

Ah, you have come to the realisation that the gameplay sucked chocobo's balls. Barely any player influence at all, it may aswell have been automated like FFXIII.
I never liked IV....Even II had better gameplay.
Music was still cool though

Can't talk **** on a 20+ year old RPG for not living up to its former glory. That game was the first one in the series that felt "special" to me. 1, 2, and 3 just bored me to death. 4 kick started the movement, man! and that music people should agree, the music was better towards the beginning of the series(seems to go that way for musicians for the most part). Sure, the sound gets more sophisticated as the tech got better, but the music doesn't stay on your mind...and once uematsu left, the music really sucked. I'm talking about you ff13.

And while I'm still talking, I'm going to go ahead and say I did enjoy 13. A lot of the disappointment is warranted, but I still enjoyed it on a single play through. The worst problem the game had was the fact that it was called final fantasy. Call it anything else, and people wouldnt freak out. If it was a new IP, people wouldve praised it and fanboys wouldnt shut up til they got a sequel. No classic, but I enjoyed it....those damn sequels though.... ....I miss squareSOFT.

Yes I can. FF6, FF5? they are 20+ years old and do not have FF4's horrible flaws. That flaw being intentional dumbing down for whatever reason. It's age shouldn't warrant it leniency, if anything I should be tougher on it since old games commonly have smarter design, imo. What matters most is a games design.

No comment. Well, lets just say as a fanboy of games as a whole I strongly disagee with all you typed there, except I miss Squaresoft too.

I didn't care for ff5. At a certain point, I just stopped giving a hoot. Ff6 is the 2d RPG on steroids. I kind of like it. But ultimately I end up not caring. The huge cast always pushes me away. I've tried playing it multiple times, still never finished it. I just don't care. All that said, I DO think those two games are great, they just don't enthrall me.

13...trust me, I don't think I'll ever play that game more than once. But while it's no classic, and a big change from the franchise, and a disappointment, at face value it's still not bad. I do NOT want more, but I won't condemn a company for mixing things up. Similarly, with the mass effect trilogy, while despising the ending , I still say the last game was really good. It's still fun. I partly blame people, for putting too much hope and high expectations into these games to fulfill all their hopes and dreams.

Huh? I just expect a quality product, not the second coming, and certainly not a linear, mostly automated and uninteresting corridoor-walking simulator

Well, the second coming would be nice, but I highly doubt anything will beat Deus Ex any time soon
