Significantly, im able to really show my visions, just not release the actual track as well as i used to.![]()
Just played "Track1", its actually got a good flow to it and no floating objects which is amazing for a first trackOriginally Posted by Barrybarfly![]()
LMAO Yeah, I kind of like having the old tracks there. I hope that anyone who doesnt think they "can't make tracks like you" plays my older tracks and realises that they CAN, with a bit of work, make tracks like me. Even if that isnt the pinnacle of track making, at least it might get them some more enjoyment out of the game and be able to make a few tracks that people can enjoy.Originally Posted by CracklyRabbit

My early tracks show all the classic errors ( sharp turns, fast sections with sudden obsticles, badly placed checkpoints etc ) I was lucky to get noticed by some of the seasoned pro builders who gladly shared their knowledge and advice.
Some things to always remember when building are:-
1. If it looks wrong or out of place, then change it.
2. If a section frustrates you as a builder, then it will frustrate players so alter it.
3. Check jumps/obsticles at various speeds, and importantly check from the closest checkpoint and earlier checkpoints.
4. Have PATIENCE. Take a break. Then come back with fresh eyes.
5. Get friends to play test. It's surprising what new eyes will spot that you've missed.
I feel that over the past year, I've come a long way as a builder and its thanks to the community members that I've become mates with. I don't like to name check but Barry did open a few doors for me and advise me on tracks. He may be a Xbox deserter play station judas but he does know what's what.
Anyway, enough man love. Keep building and practice makes perfect.
no need for thnx mate...Originally Posted by Cruelty976![]()

A good tip i would give to anyone that asked would be to learn soomething different from every track you build. Then, in terms of theorys, and the laws of averages, this would mean you get better with every track.Even if you do something different for example:-
1. light.(explore colour,or bright and darkness)
2. use a different type of obstacle that your not familiar with.
3. difficulty level of track.
4. Make your D.L. have a variety of inclines, height, elevations..
and 1 more that i really try to stick to, and that is from BlueMage, ' dont place items for the sake of it..Make it look like it belongs there.
i was building what i thought were ok/good tracks . i supported ramps and tried to fill the place up . then i was introduced to the evo all1ance boys and my next track got a red lynx pick .i look at my first builds now and cringe but who cares you got to start somewhere and if your learning and taking advice onboard thats a good thing .i think the hardest thing is criticism about your track . but if you can and will listen you will get better .
would hope... A hundred fold better than i started out

...my first track was supercross that went on for what feels like hours..
pure trials tracks had lag and surprise obsticals and inconsistant physics objects on the DL
one thing that i don't think has changed though is that i feel like ive always strived to achieve WAY beyond my ability
...sometimes ive managed to blag it and its been passable and sometimes its failed utterly
my main aim is to improve my DL's.. Just to create an awesome sweet line..
hopefully i will at some point
