Need a few Tips, (Background & Lighting)

Firstly, Hey peeps not posted in the Sub-Forum before

I'm making a second track and am going to focus entirely on improving my driving line making skillset.
So i'm not gunna spend a big chunk of time on decal and background decoration this time round.

I was thinking of just making the background to the track pitch black and be able to light Primes along a driving line,

If anyone could let me know how to completely darken a background i would seriously appreciate it,

Also taking this route, I would imagine I would have to individually light every obstacle on the tracks line. Any tips for the best light source for this?

Thanks in advance for any tips guys,
    Blaze

    All in the environment settings:
Turn the ambient color & ground (?) color to black, all horizon colors to black. Don't touch the sun light color.

Then, use a asphalt terrain shapes that is also colored black to make the ground not be visible with the sandy & grassy stuff.

This would produce a black track, and you can easily add objects in the sky without adding light sources.

Problem that I have come across is I cant seem to make water appear black.
I started on big sands, Its like a moat around the game world,

Perhaps I should group all my objects into favourites and place it in a different world.
Or maybe I could lower the track to near ground level and make mountains infront of the water and color them asphalt black.

Again thanks for the help blaster.
@Kidmpc thanks man I will be sure to check that out and see if it comes in handy
