    Issue with Saved Content since Uplay Update

    Is anyone else experiencing issues launching gold from Uplay?

    I click "Play" on steam, The Uplay client pops up.
    I sign into Uplay, Click "Play".
    The game begins goes to the Ubisoft logo and then the start up music begins.

    But when it usually switches to the Press Enter main menu screen It doesn't show it, It's just a black screen.
    The game intro rap continues in this black screen but after that its just a black screen.

    I havent played Gold in a couple months,
    The only thing that has changed since I last launched it is Uplay Updated.

    When I go into my task manager it does say "Not Responding"

    Edit: Other people have said to me that have this problem before and they re installed.
    How Do I re install via steam? "Delete local content"?
    And would I loose my pre-order game bonuses?

    Yup, delete local content and download it again. You shouldn't loose anything.


    Did you update your graphic drivers? You can try an older one, I had the same problem. It just stopped working (was working like 1 hour before) I tried alot and only this helped.

    Yup, delete local content and download it again. You shouldn't loose anything.

    How do I update Graphic Drivers?
    As bad as it is I dont know how to do that, or install an older one.

    I hope deleting the local content and re installing won't void me of my bonus content,
    I will try it.

    So I deleted local content and reinstalled

    The game launches, which is the good news.

    The bad news is:

    -When Playing a track my xbox controller disconnects multiple times as I accelerate and then resyncs to quadrant 2 on the controller.
    (This is probably an issue unrelated to the game)

    -I have 27 medals, The game appears to be an older save.
    -No preorder bonus content
    -Track downloads from track central all fail


    Help lol :/

    Well, that's weird. I never lost anything by reinstalling the game
    And loosing your preorder bonus content? Surely steam still knows you did a preorder so I don't know what happened there.

    You can try deleting your saves, maybe the game is loading from your pc instead of loading from the cloud, and since you can't download any tracks too I think the problem may be an issue with the connection to the servers.

    Yeah man, this is terrible !! It´s a terrible frustration !

    I had exactly this same issue a couple of weeks ago... it was lasting for 2 days, them magically everything got to normal again ... I didn´t change anything, no video new drivers, no reinstall... nothing at all ...

    It seems to me some issue related to Uplay ... cause it started exactly when Uplay changed to present version...

    I just hope that everything will be solved for you asap !

    I don't know if it's possible, but you can try downgrading the uplay client then, or contacting ubisoft, I don't think Redlynx will be able to help much.

    At one point we all had our saves reset, back in march : See this thread ( I didn't try moving the files personally, I just restarted from scratch and got all my medals I had lost..)

    About your 360 controller, did you try reinstalling the drivers for it?
    Win7 64bit Drivers

    And about the preorder bonus content, see this thread. Although it was for north and south america so I don't know if you had the same issue.

    Thanks for the replys guys,
    The help is appreciated, Just trying to get it all fixed.

    2 out of 3 problems fixed, Just the save files problem to fix now..

    I seem to be able to download track central tracks but it takes like 2-3 minutes per track.

    Thanks for the tip psycad, I downloaded the drivers for the gamepad, It is now fixed.

    As for my Preorder Content, My Medals, and like $1.2million in game currency I still can't seem to recover them.

    I have looked at this thread

    For steam users it mentions the gamesaves are in the "78" folder
    Offcourse because a couple of users said to me yesterday that "deleting local content" on steam shouldn't get rid of Medals/Bonuses etc I went ahead with it.

    The problem I now have is that as it seems that it did delete them,
    Unless I am doing something wrong?

    In my "78" folder I have save.metadata files.
    I have backups from March of this year dated 08/03/2013 but when I delete the content in the "78" folder and replace it with the older files nothing changes in the game.
