I'm making a dam for my knew track and I want water to flow down the middle if the Dam like a waterfall. I tried using some methods but they didn't look great and most if the time caused lag.. I'm curious if there is a known way of doing this or if someone can help me in any way.

I would try experimenting with area affectors. Place them by water and point them the way you want the water to move. Too many water effects will cause lag if it is near the driveline. I can't remember if water effects give off light, but if they do turn that down. Hope that's a start. It can be tricky to get it looking realistic. Maybe find a track with a similar waterfall flow that you want and ask the creator to give some insight.
