    New track - Feedback please

Hey everyone. New to the forums, and new to the track editor.

I've just uploaded my first Evolution track, and I'd like some feedback please.

It's called "City of Solaire" by Drake Revolver. It's BMX only, and kind of has a Dark Souls (Anor Londo) feel to it.

I've rated it Hard, but I'd be interested to know what you all think. I was torn between Hard and Medium, but a few friends who played it suggested Hard.

As I said, I'm new to the editor and I've had some trouble with the falling debris being a little unpredictable. It seems to act differently in the editor compared to in the game itself. Any hints on how to make it more predictable would be appreciated.

I also think the track could possibly flow a bit better. Although it's possible to have a smooth run, I think there are maybe a few too many parts which end up slowing you down if you don't get them exactly right. Again, I'd like to know what you think. Have I been too harsh?

Anyway, sorry for the long first post. Just wanted to say hello, and I hope you enjoy the track.

Tried your track out mate and deffinatly better than a bunch.
-Difficulty setting was spot on. Gold time good and platinum was about right also.
-The physics of the track can reak some frustrating events for the player since it's a bit unpredictable at times. (My fastest run I got squished by wall)
-My preferance in tracks is like this track EXCEPT for all the bunny hop clipping front face plants and stairs. I still think you did a real good job with the track and I gave it four stars.
-That's about all I got, and welcome to the forum.

Pretty much agree with T2. Great job on the scenery with the Anor Londo flavour. Driving line was a bit random though on many obstacles. Felt like it was luck rather than skill that was getting me over them most of the time, which can get a bit frustrating. Finally nailed a run though. Took me ages to beat your time, so I uploaded a vid of it usually upload the builder's run, so I hope you forgive me this indulgence).

    Welcome to the forum mate.

Defoliator, that's amazing. Great run, and I can see that even with a good run like that you were getting held up in a couple of places. Certainly lots that I can improve on in my next track.

Thanks for uploading the video, that's very cool.

Hey Hardwired. For whatever it's worth, here are my two-bits.

--With the falling physics objects you can put up an invisible custom collision to prevent them from ever interacting with the drive-line, and still maintain the look of falling/collapsing. Also, those type of effects can be reliably animated with Object-Position-Events if you care to dig deeper into the editor.

--With the stairways it's usually a good idea to smoothly bridge the leading edges of the stairs with an invisible custom collision. You can keep the stairs and hit them at speed without all of the face-plants.

--In high-speed areas it's generally a good idea to keep the drive-line free of tire grabbing edges and bumps. You can always disable the collisions if you'd like it to appear debris laden without affecting the ride.

You did some really nice work here. I hope you keep at it, I'm really looking forward to seeing more.
