How do I make a trampoline type bounce on an object to spring the rider up?

Hi, try using a slider joint for stabilizing the object, and Then Add a spring joint afterwards. Then All you need to do is tweak the joint so it Will spring like you need it to.

Hope this is usefull, good luck!

Have a look at the "Example Groups" in the editor menu,
'Elevator up' will give you a set up slider joint, just retarget target1 to the object you want moving and fiddle with the settings from there...also theres "Piston Push" and "Area Effector" in there that will give you a trampoline effect...

Good idea by Ozy, if that for some reason did not work for you, you can try this instead.

Let's say that you want a log to work as a a spring/ trampoline.

First you select a joint from the last section of the first top menu. Select the log as target 1, something else as target 2 ( or the other way around).
Make sure the joint type is set to be a slider.
Make sure you snap to the driving line to make the joints pivot aligned with the driving line, then rotate it so it makes the log slide down when physics is activated. There is a red arrow that hints in what direction the pivot is.
Now you need to add another joint, same procedure, only this time you choose spring joint. Go through the same process with aligning the pivot to the driving line again. At this point you should be able to just hit select and see it work. From here, all you need to do is to tweak to the exact amount of spring you want to add to the log.

I hope that was understandable, if not I can try again, if you don't already have solved the problem that is

Just throwing it out there, but water gives a pretty good bounce with the bike n riders bouyoncy high. You can use it as an illusion. Goodluck with your track!
