So I have a problem with this game that I've not been able to solve after days of trying. My game launches normally, plays the intro, and shows all the logos, but when its supposed to give me the "Press Enter" screen to go to main menu, the game freezes, I get a black screen, and it doesn't get any further. The game plays the intro song completely, even if the game has already frozen.
Things I've tried:
- Running TrialsFMX.exe, UPlay and Steam as admin
- Different compability modes on TrialsFMX and Uplay
- Offline mode on uplay
- Re-installing all the drivers that come with the game (in the tools folder)
- Updating my graphics card driver (currently Geforce 320.18)
- Re-installing the game completely (also removed it through the control panel, not just the files)
- Re-installing Uplay
- I've read almost every thread here and on Steam forums about this topic
- I've set this game to run on cores 0 and 1 of my processor (not a multicore problem?)
It is not a Steam problem, every other game works fine and Uplay starts through steam so no problem there.
PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2,8 ghz
RAM: 4096 MB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 2514MB (Drivers, like already said 320.18)
OS: Windows 7 x64
I can send the full Dxdiag somewhere if needed.
This PC wasnt used for gaming purposes for about 6 months until a couple weeks ago, so my guess is that I have some outdated drivers, but I have already updated everything that comes with the game, and windows is also updated.
I would really appreciate if someone can point out things I haven't tried.
EDIT: I forgot to say that I have not got any crash reports in the folder they are supposed to be at.
I have no idea if this will help, but look into your config file and check the resolution and match it to your monitor if it's off.
%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Ubisoft\Trials Evolution Gold Edition\Config
There is no config file O_o Is that the problem? But i suppose that if you don't have a config the game would create it on the first launch?Originally Posted by basslineux001
Is there any way you could send me your config file?
Have you waited after that intro plays out? I had that same problem earlier and i just waited and then it worked. Its not on normal but hope they can sort it out somehow![]()
If you are using an Nvidia card and driver version 320.18think) then please try using the 318 driver instead. there have been a few issues with the 320 drivers.
Shifty like i posted earlier i had that same issue and i have 314.22 drivers so its not fully driver problem i think![]()
I have the same issue if I enable Xfire. It doesn't detect Trials bought from Uplay anyway so no big deal![]()
I have 320.49 since yesterday and haven't had any problems with the game so far.
True, don't know why I didn't think of thatOriginally Posted by Httputub![]()
My config file (if this crashes your pc, I'm not responsible for that)
I once left it there for 15 minutes or something, and nothing happenedOriginally Posted by satajet2
I had the same issue before updating to 320.18 so I don't think its that, but ill try it if nothing else works.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
Solved!
I made a text file called config in the folder where its supposed to be and put the lines basslineux001 posted in it, and CHANGED THE RESOLUTION to match MY MONITOR.
Thank you very much for help!Originally Posted by basslineux001
