Snap Setting - can some1 explain in simple terms please

Well im back here again .....

I dont understand how the snap settings are ment to work ( when i get it working, its """ always """ a fluke, i cannot for the life of me set it up to do what i want it to do without trying lots of differnt settings

I understand what the X axis covers left to right, the Y axis does up and down and the Z does in and out .... the t part i stumble on everytime is the "snap distance" .... in my head it makes sense, in reality it causes a lot of frutration.

Atm i have 2 standard steel beams one which is angled at 45 deg .... it doesnt matter what setting i put in for the other ... it doesnt want to snap perfectly to the other steam beam, meaning i have put pee about manually & it defeats the point of the "snap"

I`d like to beable to just look at it and think ..... check x & y, put distance to 0.35m, select the target and then snap peices together ...... in one big go or 2,3 at a max, not 15 times

Can someone please please please ..... tell me how this is ment to work ( with examples please )

Snap them together before you rotate them, easiest way I found. Don't think you can really use snap when you rotated the beams like you have noticed
