What's the real issue with Kinect? Is it because the camera is "always on" and you feel that it is "spy hardware"? If you have a cell phone or a laptop made in the last decade then you most likely have an always online camera with a microphone in your possession or near you anyways.

I also don't understand the anger "oh, Xbox One isn't about games", of course it is, but that doesn't mean that it's ONLY about games, or that it should be only about games. If we thought that way about everything then cars wouldn't have stereos, microwaves wouldn't have clocks, and phones wouldn't allow you to read email, use the net, stream movies, play music, or offer navigation assistance. Tech SHOULD evolve, it allows for one piece of hardware to appeal to a broader spectrum of users. When hardware manufacturers make money on their products then it allows them to innovate in new ways, and innovation is good.

Don't get me wrong, I have some minor issues with Xbox One, but the fact that my barely-a-gamer wife is flat out TELLING me to get and Xbox One means that these guys have found a great way to target people who may not be in the typical demographic. That might not mean anything to most people, but look at what Nintendo did with the initial Wii.

My issue with kinect is that i don't want it cause i don't give a crap about it and because it adds 100€ to price of the console.
Anyway, what would it's purpouse be when not playing a kinect game? Is it only the voice commands and scrolling through menus with my hand instead of using the controller?

Couldn't have said it better. But I'll wait for the inevitable price drop as GTA V on 360 is all I'll need.

I'm still going with the PS4 but I'm thinking it would be a good idea to build my tracks for the 360 version of Fusion since everyone already has one.

My issue is that it adds cost to the system. I feel like I would be paying 100 bucks extra for a feature I hate. The current kinect is awful, I hate using it and my kids hate it as well. They prefer the controller, even asking if any new game I buy requires it. I get groans if I say it is a kinect game, so I havnt bought one in a long time.

I dont care how much the technology improves, I will always be able to push a button much faster and accurately than I can swing my arm or jump or whatever. I play games to relax.

But know how micro could have solved it? They could have made the damn thing sold seperately. Now every developer out there will try and shoehorn in stupid kinect gimmicks because they know everybody has it and they think everyone will expect it. Look at the Wii.

The security stuff with the system is a minor concern of mine, its kinda creepy but whatever. If they really want to watch me I dont do anything out of the ordinary. They could have solved the whole issue by saying "the system will still play games if you unplug it" But freakin no, they said the system is worthless without the camera.

So yeah, Playstation 4 is a hundred bucks cheaper, doesnt require the camera, will still have Trials, and connects with my Vita. Yeah... smartgalss, I know. My tablet does not have buttons.

Re: What platform will you be getting Fusion on?

As long as I can skype with more than one person while gaming, then I don't mind the kinect. If not, it just adds $100.

    EDIT

And as long as your kinect doesn't listen to people thru your TV. It wouldn't be an issue with friends, but I don't wanna hear people in MP yelling XBOX OFF. Wouldn't affect me since I always wear a headset, but it'd still be annoying.

Still gonna wait and see with both consoles.
