A large amount of people are worried about the second hand games market and the Xbox one after rumours emerged about single console licensing for games. Well Microsoft has "attempted" to address these concerns with a recent statment
Here is the bit about gaming...
Link to full statementAccess your entire games library from any Xbox One—no discs required: After signing in and installing, you can play any of your games from any Xbox One because a digital copy of your game is stored on your console and in the cloud. So, for example, while you are logged in at your friend’s house, you can play your games.
Share access to your games with everyone inside your home: Your friends and family, your guests and acquaintances get unlimited access to all of your games. Anyone can play your games on your console--regardless of whether you are logged in or their relationship to you.
Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.
Trade-in and resell your disc-based games: Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.
Give your games to friends: Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once.
In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends. Loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners.
Hmmmm... PS4 I feel may have a few more customers now.
Ps I think I've posted this in the wrong section. Sorry.
PS4 definitely looks like a better choice by far, but all the stuff that M$ is getting **** for, Sony has yet to reveal their stance on. I sincerely doubt Sony will do anything remotely as stupid as M$ has. Even if they had plans to do things similarly to M$, they sure as hell wont after seeing all the backlash on xbone. If, somehow, they do make the same mistakes M$ has, Sony would be the bigger fool, simply because they had this mess to learn from.
I absolutely HATE these statements. "We designed the xbox one so you can do this or do that... The used game market is very important to us..." etc etc
Just address the fact that selling, renting, loaning, borrowing games was never a problem until you decided to make a machine that makes it a problem - makes me sick.
Companies don't make as much money as they deserve as it is, and with the next gen this may get worse.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ

The best thing is that nobody who buys an Xbox One will actually own what they purchased. The games are technically rentals since they restrict you from selling/giving it to others at free will, and the Xbox One needs to be online. If it got hacked like PS3 did, every Xbox One consumer would have no way of playing their games. **** Microsoft.
I'll let Joe take it from here:

M$ has the money and really isn't taking risk at all. They have a safety net since just about every electronic device uses M$ patents. The idea M$ has is with this Xbox ONE is actaully a very clever and legal way to find out what the consumer is interested in and what they pay for. They people that get one are actually with out their knowledge giving insight to M$ like lab rats. (unrelated to the track in this game, cool track and achievement)
The game isle in the stores here have two or even three times more PS games than the Xbox. Everytime I go check games I always stumble across a PS game that I would rather play and find out Xbox dosen't have it. I see too mutch pushing by Xbox for kinect, (hell no!) and a couple big names of games. The M$ Xbox ONE was designed from questionaire polls taken by the snobbiest of consumers that glamorize themselves and broadcast every OMG! no way, what ever...
I don't think I handle playing Xbox ONE with the player on the other side screaming that in their kinect mic.
I hate how they are acting as if letting us resell games at "participating retailers" and loaning games to friends is a feature. Thanks M$ for letting use do something we could easily do on every previous generation. You are such a gracious company and you are just looking out for the consumers.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
I dont know who is aware of this, I wasnt. But for £40 a year I get my XBL gold account and can play MP. On PS3 I could pay the same amount each year and get free games each month. For example, this month I could download Dues Ex, Saints row 3, Uncharted 3, XCOM:enemy unknown and Little big planet Karting. And MP is free to play. I know which I would prefer, considering how little MP I tend to play these days!
I've been really impressed with the PS3 and am even getting used to the controller ok. The exclusive games (uncharted 2&3) I've played were awesome. Last of Us looks awesome (same developer as Uncharted). I prefer those to Gears or Halo right now. But GT5 is MILES behind Forza (which I refuse to play for other reasons). The playstation Plus membership is better than XBL gold and xbox rewards imo. The built in bluray player is 3D and therefore allows for proper stereoscopic 3D games.
I'm also loving paying £6.99 for a game. NOt £8.50 to get 1000msp, followed by then wasting 200msp before paying anohter £8.50 in the future for another 800msp game. Simply deposit what the game/dlc costs and no wasted money/points.
The only downsides so far are having to install games (which nextgen will have anyway) and a lack of party chat (which has now been implemented for the vita and will no doubt make it to the PS4).
Right now, the only reason I have my xbox360 is for Trials and party chat. So I really hope trials is cross-platform in the future, because in terms of PS4 or Xbone that is the only ace up MS sleeve right now. My PS3 experience so far makes me want a PS4 far more than recent news makes me want a Xbone. And I doubt there will be anything to change that, even if Sony have some of the same issues with the PS4 that MS have with Xbone (in terms of drm, etc), I still think the PS4 will be the better games console for me personally.
