Ive started to do an underwater track as i think they look brilliant when done well.Im wanting to use light as the water colour etc, and the camera filters...im also wanting the water look. What i mean is the waves, like currents..ive had a proper play around but im just not getting it..
Theres a few been done, so im asking-- What did you have your settings on please? or to anyone that might have an answer..
thnx.
I'm not 100% sure what your after.
You can fake the underwater look using environment and fog colour.
If your making it look underwater, surely the waves are out of sight, above you.
I Need more info...
yeah i know, but if you take the water from the editor, one side of it has depth to it..im wanting that flow, wavey feel from that water part..i might not be explaining it correct...play sons of trials track..youll get what i mean...'fully submerged'
I think that's built on land and faked.
I think I get what you mean now, the "swimmy" camera feel.
This requires the camera to be underwater, so try turning a water plane so it's standing on its edge and put it between the rider and camera, making sure the rider is on the "waves" side and the camera is "under" the waves.
I think that will give the effect, then, if it works, you'll need to link the water plane to the camera. Or just use a massive water plane.
I hope this makes sense, it does in my head. Lol

Boom, I sniped you.Originally Posted by fleskeknoke![]()
yeah i was trying that..ill select a piece to follow the rider, right on the camera...just need to take more care..You know what its like crue with the light nowadays...lol
if its not right, its mega wrong...
If you use water in front the camera, you won't hear the background music and sound sources.Originally Posted by fleskeknoke
ill put the sound sources behind the camera..thatll sort that out..i will only use a select few sounds, so thats not a problem really...
Once you've got the water plane following with the camera, you might find that, as the bike increases in speed, the focal length of the camera automatically pans out, risking exposing the edges of the water plane.
To combat this, in the camera settings, turn assisted, off. This means it will stay a fixed focal length and not pan out.
This does make some fast tracks more difficult as you cannot see what's approaching if your travelling fast but, if you build with this in mind, it'll be fine.
