With the xBox one announced, and the reveal that it will not be backwards compatible for any retail or arcade purchases, how does everyone feel about this ?
I for one am slightly dissapointed.
I was hoping to at least have the arcade games supported backwardsly. (yes, backwardsly)
With trials being my main game of choice, I feel it is a bit of a let down. Of course, I always was going to keep the x360 and its not an issue to fire that up instead of the x one.
But still...
How does everyone feel about this?
I am hopefull there will be a Trials created for the x one...but who knows...
Since most people that will be getting an xbox one already own a 360, I see absolutely no reason they should have made it back-compat. It would just add to the price. And I, like you, will still have my 360, so its not an issue in the slightest.
I'm just hoping kinect isn't packed in with every console. I don't want to pay ( I assume ) an extra $100 for something I don't want.
you need the kinect to be always connected for the console to even workOriginally Posted by MrGiggles

Edit
I must have missed an article earlier. I see it now. Darn.
Someone link an article saying the Kinect must be connected to the Xbox in order for it to "work"
Masking tape, my friends. It's in the name. MASK-ing tape.
They're all over most gaming related sites but here you go: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/...nect-attached#Originally Posted by vladiiiiiiii

Kinect propably has to constantly detect the user in front of it to do anything.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
Several things about the Xbox One have confirmed my non-purchase. I hate these Orwellian ideas of always having a camera watching you / needing to be online to such an extent / PAYING for used games / not even being able to take a game around a friend's house.. all these things don't sit right with me enough to buy it no matter what the rest of the console is like. I really am not excited about this upcoming generation at all (and I've been playing games since the Atari) so looks like I'm sticking to 360 for now..
Unfortunately as I won't be buying the Xbox One (wtf is up with that name by the way?) if the next Trials game does come out on it I guess I won't be involved. I'd like to believe people might try and keep Evo alive in that case but HD is resting comfortably in its coffin so who knows.
