I am really curious to know how some of you guys get your tracks to really pop with camera filters and time of day settings. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Well it all depends on the setting, theme and time of day. I rarely use camera filters and if I do, then they tend to be a very subtle colour tint. For example, I may add a subtle red/orange tint to the filter if my environment settings resulted in perfect lighting and atmosphere, but the track felt a little cold. That slight colour tint keeps the settings but warms them up slightly.
I know some people use certain filters regularly, others never use them.
The environment settings can have a massive impact on the look and feel of a track though. If you are playing a track then you can pay attention to the colour of the dust your bike kicks up and thats a fair indication of the ground ambient colour for example. You'll see some quite odd ones that help to give the track a certain look in conjuction with the sky ambient colour, sunlight colour, sunlight intensity and so on, even though the ground ambient colour may be purple!
Obviously, a fully enclosed track will not benefit very much from the sunlight intensity or colour but will still be affected by the ambient colours and any lights you use.
Its almost impossible to give you a simple answer. If you had a certain look you wanted, then people may be able to tell you how they achieved it. But there is no single way of doing anything in this game, so there is also no single answer.
I'm not looking for a single answer. Like you said some people use them regularly so I just wanted to see if people had a go to combination that they always use. Any replies are welcome. When making outdoor tracks I sometimes struggle to get a realistic sky and right ambiance.
I've been sat here for about an hour and a hlaf trying to get my sun angle, longitude, colour, intensity, sky colour, ground ambient and sky ambient to work together and give me the look I want. I've not got it working yet! lolOriginally Posted by ConfusedMuscles
yeah..light is a pain, but rewarding as hell once you get it right...spend as much time as possible, and dont settlr for as "thatll do" situation..
ive started doing my light first..the reason being is because you cannot default if you scre up big time unless of course you written ever default number down...personal preference though..
the cinema ones are OK though..
howdy morfy, i thought it wasn't possible to default the settings, but there is a way, just use the main time of day settings (not the custom) and change them, it will instantly reset the settingsOriginally Posted by Morfyboy![]()
