    Extremely dissapointed.

This game is described as Redlynx's "Triumphant return to PC gaming".

    What?

This is without a doubt, the worst port, or indeed game I have ever played. Here's just a few of the complaints I have with it.

    1. Terrible and sporadic framerate lag. And from what I gather, it's far from exclusive to me. With an AMD 6870 on the very latest Beta drivers, an Intel 3570k and 16GB's of RAM, I'm fairly sure this game should be running smoothly.

    2. Matchmaking is unusable. Crashes my game back to desktop roughly 75% of the time, and almost NEVER finds anyone to play with. Surely there is more than just me playing this? Or has everyone else given up already?

    3. It's petty, but the ******g intro music. What the hell were they thinking? Loud and obnoxious. And unskippable. And yes, I know it's to allow the game to load. However, could they have at least tied it in with the music volume so I can keep it quiet? Besides, with an SSD I'm almost certain not all of that time is spent loading the game.

    4. General sloppiness with regards to porting from Xbox. Stuff like the Xbox saving icon, and leaving the Xbox controller diagrams in maps.

Apart from that, the actual gameplay is fun.

So yeah, a horrible half-assed port that I wish I had never payed £15.99 for the privilege of playing. And please, don't reply with the typical "but we're fixing it!" response. This is not a beta, this is a fully fledged game. Did you even playtest it before releasing it to the public? Some of these issues would have been encountered almost immediately upon playing. Or could you just not wait to milk your fanbase any longer?

Honestly, this has been discussed so many times already that I'm getting sick of repeating myself. I'll just say this instead; go post this to Ubisoft forums since they handled the port and RL is left trying to fix it.

I'm sorry, but I'm sure Ubisoft didn't force them to hand over their precious series. They probably could have waited until they had a functional game to be proud of, instead of selling customers this trainwreck.

Evo is a functional game and that was by RedLynx. The port (Evo Gold) is somewhat less than functional in many regards for a lot of people and the port was handled by Ubisoft. See what I'm getting at here?

Actually they can force them to hand over anything they want, as Ubisoft owns RedLynx since late 2011.

However it went, I too think that Ubisoft Shanghai didn't do a great job handling the port.
Besides a few glitches and questionable decisions, the game performance seems way too sensitive depending on the system compared to other more graphically intense games.
A beefy system masked the issues in 1.02 mostly, but they were still there. After 1.03 I got no complaints - but for other people whose systems struggled even more in 1.02, the 1.03 patch probably didn't have the impact they hoped for.
Couple that with a game that runs awfully on anything other than the fixed 60 fps thanks to physics, events and game speed so closely tied to them and you got your recipe for disaster.

Though I do sometimes wonder what people are doing with their systems when it runs THAT bad even on single-GPU configurations and relatively good system specs.
Also often people don't seem to understand that the clear as crystal SLI-/Xfire-issues which can apparently only remedied by disabling multi-GPU probably won't be fixed any time soon - but they're still adamant of using their 2 GPUs (even though e.g. Nvidia already pulled the plug for now and disabled SLI via compatibility bits).
One can only speculate why: Either not enough resources (man power, money) are available to code proper support for it or the game engine just is inherently difficult to offload to multiple GPUs.

i tried the recent demo and frankly i was shocked how bad it was . defo not getting this at any point any price .i hate having to mess or find fixes to play games on pc .gave all that crap a long time ago ..a live arcade port that runs on a 7 year old console with half a meg of ram and it wont run on a i7 quad core pc with 6 gig or ram is pretty abysmal porting in this day and age . nearly as bad as the aliens colonial marines fiasco
